Seller doesn't want to sell!

Hello, I'm just looking for some advice from seasoned Ebayers please,

I won a top on Ebay tonight, 2nd hand but just what I was looking for.
I placed my bid and was the only bidder, consequently the top has ended on a very low price, obviously I'm pleased with this but within 15 mins of the auction ending the seller sent me a message saying that I was taking the p**s with my bid and she isn't letting it go for that amount.

Now I do very little on Ebay, just odds and ends here and there and so am not really sure what to do, I thought if you wanted at least a certain amount for an item that you put a reserve on it?

Any advice on how to proceed?
Many Thanks!

You can't force her to sell. Only thing you can do is wait and but in an INR claim to get your money back and leave bad negative feedback and DSRs to warn others, just make sure it's factual.

A well worded negative would be the way forward here

Thank you both, should I reply to her telling her that I have no choice but to leave negative feedback?

I hate things like this and sort of feel that I should just leave it but if the boot was on the other foot and I was a non paying bidder then I am sure she would be shouting then!

Never warn anyone that you intend to leave poor feedback. Give them every chance to make things right, and if they don't then just leave the feedback they deserve.

How do they think it works.
How can you possibly make your bid higher if you bid the most?

I must of missed the option to place a minimum bid.

As you have been in contact with the seller I would give them a few days (4-5) to mark it as dispatched and then open a INR case with PayPal.

It's a very puzzling comment though. No matter how much you had bid, you still would win at the low price.

macfly nothing surprises me anymore with buyers and sellers on ebay.

You will need to pay for it, if you haven't yet in order to open an INR & to prevent the seller from opening a NPB against you.
Never mention feedback in any correspondence.
The seller obviously doesn't understand how an auction works, pratt.
If you were the only bidder, the buyers on ebay have decided that what you won it for is it's value.
Don't accept a cancellation, pay, then go through an INR & they will then get a NPS strike.
Then you can leave appropriate FB.
  • If they wanted more for the top then they should have put a higher starting bid. They have probably been greedy and put a low start bid to save on listing fees. Serves them right if they wanted more money for it! I would do what others have said, pay for it and then go through INR. xx
