I don't think it's recession sensitive, just if Dave the Chameleon and George are running the show. They're using it as an excuse for a major welfare state shrinking exercise. It's just what I want to do and what I find interesting and what I think I would be good at (based on past experience) so I'm trying my best to get into it.
What did you do previous to that?Well done on the running SRM. Never mind everyone else, are you improving? Quick question - If you sold the mobile would that cover the bill? It's a solution and he'd learn (Can you tell I don't have children!)
I'd agree with that. Also not having had children..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thanks Beanie - I have been throwing everything at it to get rid of it as quickly as possible. My 0% interest finishes in September, so I am trying to clear it before then so I don't have the hassle of changing cards! That will mean it will have taken 11 months to pay it off!
I have wondered whether I could have saved so much in the same amount of time. I worry that I would get to a certain level of savings and would find something to spend it on, whereas with the debt I have the pleasure of watching the total dwindle, and have made it a crusade to get it cleared by September.
I will however try to save because if we ever get to move from here we will need a lot of house stuff (mainly the same stuff I had to get rid off when we moved in here )OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Morning all. Off to the Orange shop this morning to pay the bill-with DS money, not mine! And to rant at them for not mentioning they could block access to premium rate stuff for under 16's when I took the contract out-they were well aware it was for a child...managed to negotiate £45 off last night, will try for a bit more in store-ever the MSE. I think he has learnt his lesson.....Debt-free...and staying that way...0

Probably wait a few minutes SRM till there are as many people as possible in the shop and then let rip. They hate a disgruntled customer when others are in the shop. Well done on the reduction so far, quite right.
I'm off out to get the ingrediants for a Rhubarb & Custard Cake - last day at work placement tomorrow. Then I am going to sit with Andy Murray and adjust my CV & supporting statement, obviously Andy won't be sitting, don't think he knows much about social housing!

Thanks Beanie! TBH,I was just so ready to lose a stone or two it wasn't difficult-my head was just in the right place-we all know that is the hard part!
DD back from France,so washing machine going like the clappers-DS hasn't unpacked his rucksack from his D of E last weekend yet-and I'm not venturing in there!
DH in Porto last night, hopefully heading off for Lisbon today, though they have had some technical issues with shore power and toilets (why is it always toilets? What part of nothing down the loo other than what is supposed to go down the loo don't folk understand?? Once we found cornflakes clogging it up-undigested I might add, someone had tipped a bowl of them down the loo and blocked it) so the boat reeks of toilets-again!
Right,cross trainer beckons,gotta work off that sweet n sour somehow! Catch y'all later...SRM xDebt-free...and staying that way...0
