Just had an interesting phone call - 'apparently' some solicitors had told this company that I had had a car accident. I decided to play along and said that I had and no it definitely wasn't my fault. He then asked whether anyone else had had an accident in my family, I said that my daughter had, my son (who doesn't exist!) had also had an accident and so had my cat! This didn't phase him, so he asked when I had my accident. I told him it was in the 18th century, he said was it in the last three years, no I replied 200 hundred years ago. He then asked when my son's accident was, so I told him it was a 100 years ago - at this point the penny dropped with him and he started to laugh. I had to hang up because Jade and I were laughing so much!

nice one tenmah. Those "had an accident" texts make me cross... I got several calls after my accident last year (I skidded off the road on black ice). I asked them how likely I was to suceed at either sueing the road or sueing myself, as I said as the ice had now melted I couldn't sue it!Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. They keep texting me but as I caused my accident I don't think success is likely! Presumably they are also texting the other 4 drivers in the accident. I'm guessing the insurance companies sell the details on.

My ex-boyfriend did used to refer to me as his secondary food source i.e. after he'd eaten everyone else.
There's a really good joke in there - how good am I for resisting it? :AHaving said that, if you knocked his glasses off he'd have to find you first :rotfl:
Let me guess, stand in a corner, have a bright idea, and he'd think you were a standard lamp...I haven't - Butti the poor student / unemployed person. Not very cold though.
It's raining, but not cold. Those "had an accident" texts make me cross...
There was a little scandal a while back as the solictors were decrying the litigation culture - then admitted they were selling their customer details on to those TV "Sue Everyone" companies."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

No I haven't got the heating on either, but we do still have sunshine with occasional showers. Still managed to get my washing dry yesterday and hoping for the same today.
The thing about the company phoning me is that I haven't had an accident so it was a complete lie that a 'solicitor had told them I have'. Just scam merchants, like the phone call I got saying because I had paid my council taxes for the last five years, the government had decided I would be repaid them! Trouble is some people would fall for it, especially if they were desperate for some kind of incoming money.

How is everyone today?
I seem to be going in the opposite direction to debt busting at the mo
Lodger's TV is in the living room at the mo since mine went khaboom (just like in Batman it was!) So I'm off to an Auction today to see if the TVs 'at £50' are really 'at £50' or just starting at £50. Really could do with a job before any other appliances get any ideas. Lets hope there's room for me in amongst the vultures to get a cheap TV.

Butti do you have a British Heart Foundation furniture shop near you? There are a few that have popped up round here and they all seem to stock vast amounts of decent sized TVs for between £15 and £50.0
