    Hi Katsu

Redundancy just around the corner and can feel the barometer going up, any tips on best web sites searching for another job???

I find total jobs quite good. Also google what you are looking for and see what comes up. So if I google 'housing jobs' https://www.allhousingjobs.com will come up with https://www.insidehousing.co.uk and the guardian.

Don't forget to think laterally aswell. So go and see careers folkies and try and identify where your skills can be applied.

If you are being made redundant ask for any relevent courses before you finish - they will be feeling guilty so its a good time to strike.

    Morning All

Lovely day here at the moment, so washing is on the line. They are forecasting rain for this afternoon so will need to keep an eye on it and do a mad dash outside if it starts. Mind you I did that yesterday and by the time I had unpegged it all, the rain had stopped and I had to peg it all out again :rotfl:

Ironing done, and just having a quiet 5 mins before showering and starting dinner. Dad comes over on a Sunday so need to think of something he can eat. He is 90, with all his own teeth but he does find some meat tougher than others!

Is it just me, or do any of you find yourselves saying - don't wear that, I have only just ironed it........:D

And then I wear it and promptly get it dirty...what's with you doing the ironing? You sickening for something hun?...not even SAHM's do the ironing (and I'm talking Mom's of 4-12 kids)....

Congratulations BB - I had picked up on things from various FB comments, but I am soooo pleased for you. It must be like a dream for you after all the horrible months you had to put up with from your ex and his attitude to you. Does he know how much you have moved on? It is funny because I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering what you were doing job wise - yet another confidence boost for you and the days of cruella are now long gone, now you don't have a chance of bumping into her - just fantastic for you and I am pleased you are getting the life you deserve after all the carp you had xx

It is really nice to hear from so many of you - facebook status's don't give the full picture and look how many of us are debt free or very close to it. It is a shame we didn't get a chance to celebrate with each other with that bit of news as it was debt that bought us to this site in the first place.

Well I'm on Facebook and like have about 2 friends of MSE who are also on Facebook....so if you get to know me and like me - pm me for my email addy so you can add me. Sorry I'm new to this cafe world of MSE...I'm elsewhere but have had my run in's over ethics etc.....

Mars Bars are best. You meet better singers.

Well it's good that you're doing that, rather than me. I'm of the "dig hole, fill with concrete, go to pub" school of thought...

I have no idea what 'kitkating' is but it sounds crude...Do I lead such a closeted life or is this just a southern expression

Other offers for the meet include camping in Aberdeenshire....somewhere close to a bus route preferably.....(think there's a good campsite MacDuff way or like in Royal Deeside but if we go for the Deeside idea I'm thinking not one that's 101 miles from the main road and buses...but there's plenty of campsites round here.

If not, if you fancy an Aberdeen meet sure I can help get folk set up with couchsurfing of which there's about 100 young or so folk willing (well maybe less now uni has finished) to help put you lovely peeps up...Or else we can just camp on Balmedie Beach (fab beach!!!)

Aberdeen is accessible via road, rail, megabus and air..(easyjet from Luton and Gatwick) and there's not much to do but we'll have ourselves. :)...not many shops either so it could well be very MSE...:T though there is the maritime museum which is well worth a visit and the art gallery...:D

I'm all for bartering the price of coffee and scones out :)

'grats on the happy news BB. Very kind/clever of you to offer Banbury for meet - can people get to random bits of oxfordshire easily by public transport?

Banbury is on the main line with trains from Newcastle/York/Manchester/London etc passing through regularly. It's surprisingly accessible for the train, even if you have to change at Oxford, it's 1 stop after that. I used to get the train from Poole to Southampton and then from Southampton to Banbury when I was travelling to meet Pepe, the journey was just over 2 hours.

*reminds self after spending half the morning on MSE it is not good for Erme to go online on Sabbath....never mind Facebook (which just makes me paranoid on Sabbath) MSE is going to be OUT for Erme from next Sabbath onwards...

Only say this cos I missed kirk this morning due to being fixated on Sabbath... Each to their own. I am no man's keeper bar myself......this is just the lesson learnt today...

As always by heart is deceitful and desperately wicked and where is their hope but Christ. Only he can change this wicked and worldly heart that so wants to serve him and glorify him yet has the old man still firmly there :(

Sorry to rant. It's just one of those 'normal mournful Sabbaths' for me

Spotted a great bargain - source WelshWoofer on daily small things

"Completely free from Funky Pigeon - I've been through the process and it works - got an email confirmation of the order straight away

Get Free Fathers Day card worth £2.99 when you go
to www.funkypigeon.com and choose your card
then you need to use code FUNKYFREE when
    you go to checkout".

I'd already bought my fathers day card but decided I couldn't turn down a freebie. Surprisingly easy to order so thought I'd spread the word.
