Active Moderator(s) for the Pets board?

Do we have a moderator for the pets board at present? There are discussions on parasite infestations and adverse reactions to veterinary drugs that do not appear to be being curtailed. Home remedies are being advocated, can this be addressed please?

ETA: and a couple of days ago a discussion on a queen rejecting kittens, when one was already dead.

I think that your obvious concern for animal welfare that has prompted you to ask the question makes you the ideal candidate if they're looking to appoint someone to the post.

Luckily for MSE (and all who sail in her) I am not posting much anymore! I have been a moderator elsewhere, but a lot less contentious stuff discussed, I am too opinionated to be impartial .... :rotfl:

You may therefore have forgotten that this site is not actively moderated

If you report any post you feel is not in line with the site rules, the forum team will take a look when they get round to it ... but they don't work 24/7 so it may well be the morning before anyone reviews such a report.

Just seen MSE Andrea says it can take up to 48 hours for a report to be reviewed :eek: ... but as she also says, it's often much quicker than that

Board guide then. Regardless, someone used to leap on any post that was vaguely seeking veterinary advice as per Glad's sticky. I thought - and I might have misunderstood - that board guides dealt with adherence to board rules and the forum team deals with forum rule breaches ...

As a statement of fact rather than a criticism, Glad has posted on three pets threads from Nov 2010 to date and MrsTine has not posted on any. I am aware they both have a lot on their plates and therefore wonder if one or both has resigned. So my original question stands - are there any active [STRIKE]moderators[/STRIKE] board guides for the pets board?

Very diplomatic Fire Fox. Unfortunately other boards have the same problem - one of the BGs on the Vents board has not even been online since February!

I noticed that a few minutes ago. Time to replace the board guide in question surely, for the sake of the remaining one's workload if nothing else?

Come to think of it that board could probably do with an entire team of them given the amount of abuse taking place at present, since the perpetrators appear to effectively have free reign to target the most abhorrent bile towards regular members.

I check the pet board as regularly as any other board, it's impossible to read every thread/post though so some do get missed, but every member is able to report a thread if they feel it is against MSE rules

as to the number of threads I've posted on, most of the threads I post a standard phrase on are later deleted by the forum team so my post disappears too

in other cases I'll ask the forum team to take a look at a thread or post, but not post on the thread, either the thread will be deleted if against the rules or left to run with sometimes a post from a forumteam member
so my not posting much on that board doesn't mean I'm not being proactive
