Blimey! Calm down love. We all do things different ways. Every time someone mentions recorded delivery Soolin, you go off on one. I am VERY happy with the way I run my eBay business. And as for 'no buyer is going to buy your item', what a ridiculous thing to say. I've no desire to prove my eBay success to yourself. But I'm happy with it, enough said. Just because YOU choose not to use recorded, others have a use for it.
But as Soolin says. Why make less money than you could? Why distrust your customers that much? I haven't used recorded for years I send 100 items a month and have had 2 loses in the past year. I know I have made more money because I don't use RD. Also why pay for a service that isn't guarateed. Thats just chicking money away.

Also why risk your DSRs? If I receive a low value item send RD I always mark the DSRs down one star just for that waste of money and I know other people do.

The idea of selling is to make as much money as possible. It doesn't seem as if you wish to.

MY idea of selling is to provide myself with a job that pays enough money for my familys needs. I'm not greedy and out to get as much as I can. I want a happy easy life, and you know what, it's working for me. :).

After having part time jobs I've noticed that new employers are a bit grouchy when you have to leave suddenly because your daughter has had another fit at school, and smashed her head/broken her jaw/split her brow etc. And hospital appointments get in their way too. eBay, and how I choose to run my little piece of it suits me fine - do you think we might leave it at that please?

Many thanks for all the very interesting opinions on business models to use when running a successful eBay enterprise. As always in life there will be variations. It will be good for newbies to the forum, and indeed the eBay community to see that there is NO right or wrong way of doing things.

Will definitely think about all your different ways to approach the dilemma of posting stuff to people. And then I'm off for a nice cuppa, take the dogs along the beach, get a fish supper on the way home, and read Mr Men books to my youngest. And if I fancy it a bit later on, I might list some stuff on eBay, maybe not. See how I feel. Have a nice evening everyone.

A fish supper, yum yum....I had the most wonderful gluten free fish and chips in Whitby last year and we are considering driving all the way up for another weekend there this year just so I can have another one.

What's really nice is, it's now raining cats and dogs out there, getting dark too. Love it. Our chippy gives the dogs a battered sausage between them, otherwise other customers can't get into the shop, cause the old one lies down, and refuses to budge from the doorway unless he's fed. That's when you know you visit the chippy too often!! :rotfl:Have a lovely evening.

Make the trip Soolin, it's what life's all about. Enjoy.
