Thank you guys, we are totally in love with our babies and they are so gorgeous.

Our girl Sadie is very playful and a lot braver than the boy. This morning when i went in she was sat up on one of the shelves.

She seems to love things on the end of string so off to get some more variations of that later as the one we have has feathers on it so i'd rather she doesn't eat the feathers.

We have the video camera set up in the room today and it should last all day. We want to be able to see the boy is eating anything. Not worried about her as she has eaten plenty in front of us already.

What beautiful kittens and thanks for the updates!

Sadie is certainly a star in the making and it won't be long before Milo joins in the fun. Continue as you have by staying patient and letting him do things in his own time and I'm sure he'll take you by surprise very soon!

It's perfectly safe for cats to eat feathers or real fur, they would do so if they caught and ate a bird or mouse. Feathers are mainly keratin, the same protein as our hair and nails. What is high risk is string - please don't ever leave a cat unattended with a string toy, not even while you answer the door or go to the bathroom.

So pleased to read that you are enjoying this after waiting patiently for so long; the video camera is an excellent idea!

Thanks Firefox i never thought of it that way.

The video camera has reassured us as we were worried that Milo wasn't eating. Well in the video he comes out from under the sofa for a good part of the day. He eats, drink and pees. He also has as good a look round as Sadie.

And overnight we had the first poops so very happy with our babies now.

Well our babies are getting a lot more confident. Milo is coming out from under the sofa and having a bit of a play with some toys.

Sadie however is doing amazingly well. After spending some time playing with them before we went to bed last night as we stood up to open the door she came right out to the middle of the room. I crouched down and put my hand out (not expecting her to do anything) and she sort of headbutter my hand and allowed me to give her a good scratch behind her ears which she seemed to love. She then let my hubby do the same.

I was so happy i almost cried!! :j:j
  • That's fantastic!

Great progress for the 1st week - I never saw Smudge for at least the first 3 weeks!

Archie's a "head-butter" - he usually goes for my nose - it's really funny and cute and I never tire of it (although it can be a bit inconvenient if I'm trying to type as he's doing it just now)!

  • Well almost a month after getting our 2 babies i thought i would post an update. They are both doing amazingly well. They stay in their room when we are out but as soon as we get home they have the run of the hall stairs and landing and the lounge/dining room as well.

Sadie loves being stroked but only when it suits her (shes a total diva) and we have had a good few strokes of Milo when he doesn't realise what you're doing.

They both play together so well although it sounds like a herd of elephants when they decide that racing up and down the stairs is the game they want to play.

They are both so nosey and although still easily spooked we now don't have to entice them to come out from under the sofa.

We are so pleased they are doing so well and thought some of you guys who gave me such good advice would like an update.

I am so pleased to hear how well they have settled in, my non-cat owning friends didn't believe me about the "herd of elephants" until they heard it for themselves! How do such delicate quiet creatures manage to make such noise?
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Have you thought about getting a cat tower? it seem like your little girlie likes to be up high.
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p
