Waiting for a proposal - how did you stay sane?!

  • Exciting news squ1rrel5 and daisiegg! Here's hoping something happens soon!

I know that feeling of the swinging back and forth - the thing with our Malta holiday is so different from what we'd normally do, and OH keeps talking about it and about the wedding we've been invited to in July, but then yesterday we had a conversation about who his best man would be which seemed to go reasonably well and then suddenly turned into 'so, that sports team' which is his code for 'this is awkward and I don't want to talk about it any more' *grumps* I just wish I knew what he wanted!

I'll watch it online as my OH always wants to watch the CSI marathon on 5 USA on Sunday nights, so if I want to watch anything then I have to do it on my computer. I did however see the trailer earlier and openly said that if he proposed somewhere with loads of people around I'd go mad!

Yay Squirrel, that's excellent news, so glad that you found two that you like and that kitty is a bit better too :D. I wonder if the wait for him to actually propose will be more annoying than the waiting so far. I can honestly say I have found the past 5/6 weeks, since we talked about getting married, harder than the two odd years I was waiting prior to that! Although at least you have been ring shopping, that's immense!

I'm peeved, I am STILL ill with this rotten cold and now my car has a problem with the washer jets which is bad news with all the salt and stuff on the road and then I left my snorkel and mask at the dive centre tonight and OH and I have had an off day :(. A lady I 'met' through Trip Advisor has started diving at the same school as me and we met for the first time tonight and while we were in the changing room she asked if OH and I were married....no.....are we engaged....no....how long have we been together?.........almost 4 years.........'oh' :(

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

He said it was an early V day present. I opened it and it was a woolly hat...
That was such a brilliant place for your laptop to intervene daisy:rotfl: there was I about to rush in, outraged on your behalf at such an unromantic present (in the circs),lol. Have a great trip, and I hope you can just enjoy the romance of it, because it is such a romantic gesture (but secretly have everything crossed for you)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Grrr I am on the iPad and for some reason it won't let me do multiple quotes, sorry if I miss anyone out.

Congrats squirrel on all the positive news, so happy you managed to go ring shopping, so excited for you too! Really hope that u don't have to wait too long.

Daisy love where your laptop cut you off so so funny. Awww Prague proposal sounds so romantic, I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you :)

Awww jtr I am sorry about the conversation, just what u needed to finish off a rubbish day. It's really funny but no one has ever said to us oh it's time you guys got engaged or married, but I am always being asked if we are going to have a baby soon haha, weird huh?

Sorry I know someone new has joined but I can't find your post now, just want to say hi and welcome, we can all identify with how frustrated you must be feeling, you must feel like you are constantly siting for him to pull his finger out :(. Would you consider asking him to marry you?

Hope everyone is ok, I am feeling a bit rubbish at the mo, me and OH finally decided we would leave having a baby to fate, but stop using contraception, got my smear test thru went for the test as soon as poss so we could carry on trying this month and I have cervix erosion and nurse is worried about smear result, so therefore have been advised to put baby making on hold! I am a bit worried about the result, but trying to remain calm, I am such a worrier!

Ah also forgot, I was skiving at work on Friday, which is why I was posting, but i am part time student and also work part time, so if I am on here I am normally skiving from one or the other haha

Hi mazy, welcome back! This thread is moving right fast the last few days, it's becoming very difficult to keep up from my iphone without OH seeing what I'm reading over my shoulder lol :A

I think that might have been me that mentioned the hinting, have you toned it down since? :rotfl:

The number 13 is my lucky number so I would love to get married next year! Although it doesn't leave me much time for planning and paying for it seeing as there's no proposal in sight :o

    Hey honey,

Yeah i've toned it down...to be honest I think i'll be on this thread forever...I can't see him proposing at all....I think like one or two of my friends it'll be a case of discussing it then doing (getting married!) so no romatic proposal or engagement really...It's kinda sad...but it's not the most important thing in the world ...I don't even want a wedding wedding...But I love hearing and seeing other peoples plans....Got so many ideas and love planning stuff so maybe should become a wedding or party planner!!

    That's cool it's your lucky number mines's 21...so that's a way off....ha ha!!

I know every time I try to go on this thread and write something he says "what you looking at?" "What you writing?" never on another thread...

Oh and how random found out my ex is getting married....to the girl that he 'didn't' cheat on me with....but they got together soon after I ended it with him!! IN all honesty i've always dreaded that day and I thought especially with how I felt when his sister announced her engagement that i'd be worse when I found out he was and to her...but strangely I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders...I didn't feel sad...or angry...or anything I thought I might...actually I felt quite excited for them....ha ha...weird or what!!

Oh it's V day tomo....has anyone been whisked away on a romantic weekend etc?

I've not got through loads of the thread yet but i'm intrigued to see...so excited for all your stories!! ekkK!!

    Mwah Maz xx

The exact same thing happened last year with an ex of mine, left me for the girl he's now marrying, I hated her so much but one day last year we had a random heart to heart and she asked me if I could help her pick out a ring for HIM! Turns out she's lovely but he is a serial cheat but still a nice guy even though he broke my heart! Waiting for my wedding invite now :D xxx

Oh bless you Ally, try not to worry too much, I know it's scary but at least you are in the right hands now to get the best care if you should need it :)
