  • Another friend has got engaged.

I'm so happy for her, but I could cry. They've not been together long :(

I can kinda empathise with you :( I'm happy that a friend's getting married, but they decided to get married and started planning their wedding 6 months into their relationship and I can't help but feel a bit green-eyed because I've been waiting for years :(

    I'm guessing you're waiting for a proposal?

Hi everyone, almost 6 years down the line now and not far away from 30. We've just bought a car and are planning a holiday, We have a great life, he has his own business which does very well and he looks after me, but am I greedy to want more??

We are almost the last of our friends to get engaged, the last engaged couple gt married in a month and I for one am dreading that wedding because I know what my conversations will consist of...."yous will be next" .... "Any word of yous getting hitched" etc etc No doubt it will end like the last one where I'll get depressed and tired of all the questions and just go to bed early.

I still live at home with my parents and although we practically live together, i wouldn't dream of living with him officially unless we were married, so that's not an option.

Do you know it's been great to get this out of my system, I've only ever had this discussion in my own head before lol!!

  • I got my proposal!!
Long time lurker of this thread but too scared to post what i was feeling..
We met on POF two and a half years ago, I knew from very early on that I would marry this man. I convinced myself that he was going to ask me on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, Valentines Day, our anniversary....you get the picture!
After so many disappointments I decided to put the whole idea out of my head...we booked a mini break in Spain last week to a hotel recommended by friends. On the second night, we went to a beautiful restaurant by the harbour in Denia, we are foodies so I wasn't surprised by this. Half way through the meal he pulled the ring out of his pocket!! I was so shocked...he cried, I cried, it was all so romantic!
Anyway we've booked the 3rd of May as the date, I've never been so happy!!
