Just had a read through- you sound like a lovely boyfriend who'll be a wonderful husband. Best of luck for the holiday. Based purely on your postings, pretty sure she'll say yes :-)

I was going to recommend you get a fake ring from Oasis or somewhere (lots of nice shiny ones!) and tell her than you'd go shopping together when you got back and had time to save a bit more for it... but looks like you didn't need any advice!

    Have a great time!

I am a bit of a magpie so a nice shiny diamond to 'ooh' and 'aaah' over would make my evening...

Ok I am now starting to freak out completely, she was talking about her friends engagement ring, and saying how her diamond is really small and she wouldnt want that ( I am not sure how small though) and after looking at the ring again the one I have got diamond wise is really small!! the annoying thing is she has always said she doesn't want me to spend out £1000 on a ring, and this ring is worth £1500 and carat wise its only a 0.35 but its platinum and excellent cut and colour so quality wise its very good but its small! I know she wont be disappointed but I am worried deep down she will be!

I am making her sound greedy she really isnt but she just would like a decent size diamond! the annoying thing is I probably could of got a non certified cluster diamond (which makes the diamond look bigger than it actually is) for less money but I chose to go for the quality ring!

    Heres some pictures!!

Personally I love it, and I don't think she'll be disappointed. You've already recognised that size isn't everything with diamonds and I think the quality is more important.
  • It's all about context - on delicate womanly hands it will look great - it's only people with chubby fingers who'd make 0.3c look small!!
If she queries it (and I'm sure she won't!!) - just say you went for petite and perfect, like her, rather than bigger and lesser quality!!

I reckon you're worrying over nothing. The ring is beautiful, so I doubt she'll find fault with it. Didn't you buy it according to her (very specific) preferences anyway?
Asides from everything else, the most important thing will be being engaged to the man she loves, not the size of the diamond.

I don't think that diamond is particularly small. Nice ring, btw, I'm sure she'll love it.
