I've enjoyed looking through the photos, loved everything. The wall hangings - although I've seen many ones with hearts over the years, but none like yours. Well done.

It's so nice that you have started crocheting as that is a very fulfilling hobby.

Thankyou i am very much enjoying it. one of the things that really struck me tho was when my 7 yr old said how much she loves seeing me making things for the home and everyone. she said she loves watching me. aawwww. it a nice confidance booster as i just make things i enjoy, but when others say they like them also it inspires me a bit more. seeing as i've lost all confidance over the years.

i tried to make my hearts slightly different and unique to me, but like you say there are so many around. but i love sitting and fiddling and seeing what i can come up with.

Hubby says with my crocheing all i need now is a rocking chair which he gonna buy for the nursery. cheeky chap. but how cool would that be.

jcr16 i love your blanket and hanging hearts so creative and good on you learning to crochet! I taught myself to knit a couple of months back also at a grand old age of 29 and would love to learn to crochet too. Can i ask which tutorials on YouTube did you use to learn to crochet? That baby blanket you have pictured is that a simple pattern to follow? Where did you get that pattern from? Sorry for all the questions i did look into crocheting but always looked harder to do than knitting? In my opinion! But i would love to start and make a blanket for my two kids! Thanks for sharing your crafts and look forward to seeing more! Oh, my DH says i look a right picture in my night gown knitting away with my glasses on! LOL!

thankyou amie, i just typed in you tube, step by step crochet. i must of watched loads can't remember excate names or anything. and the blanket is just simple granny squares pattern.

I found it easier one i got going to have one of my little boys blankets by my side and use that as a guide to how it should turn out.

the first one i did i didn't add enough stitches so it alot tighter, and not as holey. but will be fab for his car seat in the winter. but my daughters one i did 3 stitch chains and 2 stitch chains inbetween each bit. and it has given it a softer, looser finish which she loves.i've got a far way to go until it big enough for her single bed, but it grows really fast.

i always thought crochet looked impossible. i could knit from about the age of 6 or 7 and loved it.( mainly scarfs, lol) but i've never understood crochet. and now i must say the granny sqaures pattern i'm finding alot easier than a basic knit 1 pearl 1 knitting. i've still got along way to go , before i'm good enough to give as pressies, but with 4 children this winter, i'm sure they will keep me busy in the blanket requests i have been given already.

well i started to make hubbys sock monkey before realising i've run out of eyes and i didn't get any yellow felt. so the monkey is made just needs the finishing touches.

but postie arrived just before i packed up and brought the satin ribbon i needed to finish my babies patchwork quilt i made.

So here it is, i'm really chuffed.

Because of your thread i've been very naughty and spent most of today looking at YouTube tutorials and googling different crochet sites but... it still all so confusing to me at the moment! I so want to learn so i am going to ask my MIL to teach me! But in the meantime i am going to knit the blankets instead and learn to crochet on the side if my MIL have the patients for me or if i have any for her LOL!
Keep up the good work and maybe one day soon i can post some of my blanket makes... :)

I need to get my crochet hooks out again now Ive seen you blanket jcr :D I started some granny squares last year but my sewing took over :o

I love the sock monkey (something Ive not done yet) and your quilt is amazing :T

I am not that good but its easier than knitting as there is only one stitch to drop :rotfl: i can do basic knitting (stocking and moss) but only if they are squares :o

I love revamping furniture and bits of wood, I will have to post a pic of my latest peg coat hook I have just done but if you want to see some Ive done for my DGD's they are on my homepage :D

Im trying to put together some star quilt squares at the moment as Ive only done patchwork before so Im finding it interesting :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)
