@point3 Unfortunately, you will not be able to contact us through our regular ‘contact us’ channels if you do not have an open account, that’s why we have asked for you to contact us via our email address. I can confirm that any and all personal data is removed from our systems once your account has been closed, this includes information that is requested for a cashback claim and any card numbers associated with in store cashback. In regards to any outstanding cashback, if we receive this after you have closed your account, then we return this to the retailer as we cannot forward it to any bank/Paypal accounts as these details are removed during the closure of the account. I hope this has helped.

Thanks,
Leanne

Hi Leanne,

Your colleague, Jonny, did eventually reply to my "Contact Us" message. He oddly reactivated my supposedly "closed" account, stating that the account was now ready to earn cashback. You replied to me after that, too.

On each occasion, each one of you at Quidco has ignored my subject access request for personal information.

Now, if my account had been closed and my data removed from Quidco's systems as previously suggested, why is my account now ready populated with my personal data? Where did this data magically spring from after it had been deleted?

I believe that Quidco holds more personal information on its members (and ex-members) than is actually required to conduct its business. Why would Quidco be so secretive and obstuctive otherwise? As a business handling and storing customers' personal data, as a business registered in the UK and registered with the ICO, Quidco has an obligation to provide its customers with a copy of their personal information if so requested. I have requested this; please do the necessary.

In your e-mail, you also make the same grand gesture to repay outstanding commission back to the retailer. Does anyone believe this actually happens? Or rather that Quidco keeps unclaimed affiliate's commission for themselves? Why doesn't Quidco offer to pay out any outstanding monies through the existing Paypal and bank accounts it already has on record?

So far, Quidco's responses in this matter have been unhelpful and, indeed, obstructive. A sensible reply is awaited.
• I have purchased a AA membership through Quidco after they promised a cash back equivalent to half the cost of the membership (over £70.00). More than 3 months later, in spite of an email from them announcing the imminent payment of the cash back and numerous email to them, not a sausage!

I have now read many similar complaints on this forum and others. Why does MSE keep advertising the Quidco link?

Good afternoon,

@point – To be honest, we hold very little data for you as we simply don’t need it. The only information that is on your Quidco account initially is your email address, you can then choose to enter your BACS details, name, and post code. We do not request your address, phone number, or full card details. If you’re referring to your in-store card data, we simply take the 16 digit number from your card. This could be 16 random digits if you wish, we don’t take any other details from your card so there's no way this could be used in any other way. When an account is closed, your payment details are automatically removed from our system. We don’t pass on any of this information to third parties, as covered in our Privacy Policy.

It does sound as though your account may not have been properly closed in the first place though, although I believe this has now been properly closed by our team. We have been experiencing a few technical issues recently so I do apologise if you were affected by this.

If you want to have your outstanding cashback paid to you before we close your account, then you are welcome to wait until this cashback is confirmed, and paid to you, before we close the account. Just state this in your request and we can do this. We can’t send the payment to you once an account has been closed as, as I say, your bank details are automatically removed, so we have nowhere to send it to.

@Claudio77 – AA do take around 5 months to confirm cashback, so this is still going through the normal process at the moment. Can you please confirm the exact message that you received from us? Only if the cashback is in ‘confirmed’ status will this be paid out.

Many thanks,

Rosie

Hi, did my insurance with Sainsburys last Friday, it didn't show as tracked but when I went on Quidco to see what I should do I clicked on something and it came up with the date I had clicked through and something about waiting for it to track, this was not part of 'my activity' which shows tracked/confirmed items. Just been back on and for the life of me can't work out what I clicked to show I had been on the site as it still hasn't tracked. Quidco did me out of my insurance cashback last year by saying I wasn't signed in when I know I definately was, and now again this year its not tracked! Anyone know what I did to show that I had clicked through to the site before I chase it up.

To recap, I have made repeated Subject Access Requests to Quidco for my personal information, asked that my data be deleted and my account closed.

To date, all of Quidco's representatives have deflected my questions and have given untruthful answers.

My Quidco account has been supposedly closed, reopened and now closed again. Leanne and now Rosie have stated that data is removed from Quidco when an account is closed, but there does not appear to be any evidence of this actually happening. My account now has exactly the same status as when it was "closed" before and on that occasion Quidco proved that no data is actually removed on closure - my re-opened "closed" account still held my intact personal data.
@point3: What will have happened is that we closed your account as requested, but what we normally do is reply and then put the ticket on hold. The details we hold on the system are only payment details (bank account, sort code, possibly card number if you signed up to in-store cashback) and of course your name and email but only if you have put these in yourself, please be aware once an account is closed these details are removed. Can you send us an email at members@quidco.com so we can check whether the account is definitely closed, thanks.

The statement that Quidco pays unclaimed commission back to the retailer has not been trotted out this time?? So it wasn't true? :rotfl:

A little honesty is required here.

Quidco requests more personal information from its members than it requires to conduct its business. This is stored on servers in unknown locations, either in the UK or abroad, and includes full names, addresses, telephone numbers, birthdates, e-mail addresses with associated account user names and encrypted passwords, purchase records, debit and credit card details, and details of Paypal and bank accounts. This data is shared with third parties. There is no evidence that this data is deleted from customers' records on account closure, allowing Quidco to continue to use customers' data for marketing and to earn affiliate's commission.

For the umpteenth time, can I have my information?

Have just found what I clicked, it was below 'my activity', I put in Sainsburys Bank and the date of when I clicked through and did my insurance comes up yet it still is not showing as tracked. Can I ask someone at Quidco why I have to open up a missing claim and go through all the waiting process when it clearly shows in my account that I clicked through on 7th Dec with Sainsburys and did my insurance, I received the policy documents this morning! Can I also ask why everything else has tracked without problem except insurance? Last year it didn't track and the excuse given was I was not logged into Quidco! which was ridiculous. Now again this year although it shows I went through Quidco it hasn't tracked. Surely there is something wrong with Quidco/insurance tracking that needs to be looked into. Can someone look into this or do I have to open a missing claim?

Good morning everyone,

ChrissyG – Great news! :)

@November2 – This is what we call a ‘click through’, which basically shows that you did definitely click through Quidco to the retailer. If you go to the enquiry page, you can then raise the claim for it here. You can get to this by clicking ‘support’ and then selecting ‘create a cashback claim’.

@point3 – Any cashback that is forfeited to us by an account closure is paid back to the retailer, I’m sorry if this was not clear in the previous response. If your account has been closed then I’m not sure what information you would like us to provide. All of your details have been removed and therefore we now would not be able to find your account, as there’s no way of us tracing this if the data has been removed. Also as this is a public forum, I wouldn’t be willing to post any personal information on here for obvious reasons, which is why we are requesting you email members@quidco.com. This forum is meant for general queries as opposed to specific account queries, which this is. Therefore I would kindly request that if you do wish to discuss this further, please email us on the above email address, as we will not be discussing this further on the forum.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Many thanks,

Rosie

I transferred to Scottish Power through Quidco on 16th August (dual fuel £55 cashback) , it didn't track. I waited a month then raised a claim, I've since enquired about what is happening and 4 months on from the original transaction, I'm still none the wiser. Am I being unreasonable to think, that this should have all been sorted by now? :(
