  • The silver lining in the Cash Passport cloud seems to be that all other Mastercard prepaids are working fine for now, I guess until 1 Nov
  • mine was about 4 years ago so too late to complain, I understand the charges have been held to be unfair on watchdog but not sure what steps are being taken to ensure companies can't charge them as yet.
I guess it will be a long slow process but the consumer will out in the end, if we shout loud enough!

Let's be thankful for small mercys. I expect we will see some new threads highlighting a whole new set of difficulties once Ryanair start messing us around with their own prepaid.

  • I have had this issue today with Neteller prepay Mastercard (not the virtual one). I called Neteller to ask them why it was rejected, and they've said that there are issues with Ryanair which their technically people have tried to address, but Ryanair refuses to work through them.

    Because:
    - the card has worked before
    - I tried twice and double-checked the details
    - prepaid MasterCards do not incur the £6.00 admin fee
    - my Visa card worked (with £6.00 fee)
    - Neteller's customer service comments

I am led to believe, until I have evidence to the contrary, that this is a tactic used by Ryanair to force me to pay the £6.00 fee.

I suggest making complaints to Consumer Direct

You are in a long queue of people who have experienced just such issues...Ryanair's tactics continue to make life very difficult for their customers. I have finally voted with my feet and will no longer give them my custom, but I have voiced my concerns to Consumer Direct and I stronly urge others to do the same. It will take consumer power to stand up for fair rights in the end.
