Where can I see their accounts?
How could they have debtors as a charity - doesnt make sense!
Unless whoever deals with their accounts has been classing expence accounts overdue as debtors?0 -
The Young Ones Trust has only 1 trustee - ideally there is a minimum of three - called Iain Doherty. WHOIS on the Young Ones Trust website shows that the registrant is a Patrick Smart with an email address at discount-wheels.co.uk.
Apparently the discount-wheels domain was originally registered by Iain Doherty, but he lost it because it was using someone else's trademark thus involving misrepresentation. This link:
http://www.britishcaselaw.co.uk/eaton-williams-group-ltd-v-doherty-2009-drs-7364-06-august-2009
shows that a company made a complaint against Iain Doherty, won, and took over the direct-wheels domain. Trademarks for air conditioning equipment appear to have been involved: the legalese makes it difficult to follow.
The strange thing is that "discount wheels" sounds like used cars to me, and Everyone's Children's Trust have the same address as a used car company!
I am not sure what all this means, but it was all found via Google and is in the public domain: as Tangible says, this is just reporting facts that anyone could find for themselves. People with research skills and/or experience of the charity world knows where to go for information. The Young Ones Trust Company, of which Iain Doherty is an officer, had over £3,000 in the bank in 2009 by the way. It would be interesting to see the movement of money between the trust and the associated company.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Everyones Office is located above the car sales apparently. if you look on maps it does make sense.
Still all very suspect though.
Is one trustee even legal?0 -

RE: CHARITY COLLECTION AT HIGH CHELMER 22ND OCTOBER 2011
Unfortunately we have had some complaints about your organisation. We endeavour to always accommodate charity and community events wherever possible and by so doing we are endorsing their activities. As we cannot see from viewing your public accounts that any monies have been passed on to charitable causes we have no option but to remove our permission for you to collect in the centre on the above date.
We have tried to call you about this but the phone number that you have supplied to us and that appears on your letterhead appears to not be in use.
Yours sincerely

How'd you get that???
That is absolutely brilliant! I sent him a copy of the accounts but they didn't seem to be doing anything about it.
Thanks so much for letting us know0 -

I emailed the shopping centre a few days ago and asked them to consider whether they were doing the right thing.
I think we have all had a part in making them change their minds so thanks to you too.0 -

Excellent! Well done! :j0 -
Charity is fast becoming one huge over inflated balloon.
Billions of pounds are been paid by unsuspecting members of the public, very few can actually find anyone anywhere who has ever benefited from a charity other than those who work for them on these dream factory wages, with expense accounts, free top of the range cars, free mortgages, free houses, free ruddy everything, but ask most of them to show you who they have given the charity money to and the best they can do is roll out some stock image library pictures of unfortunate people.
The whole show is one over inflated balloon of corruption, greed and self pocketing of money given by the poor that ends up in the pockets of the rich and greedy.
They are all the same.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
The above post does not seem to have resulted from a serious investigation of the voluntatry sector: many of us who are good at identifying sham and inefficient charities do this by comparing them to good charities that we have experience of.
Further, the "NCVO Survey of Job Roles & Salaries in the Voluntary Sector: 1997/1998" reported that less than a quarter of the general charities in the UK employ paid staff.
I have worked for a hospice, where the beneficiaries are easy to identify and donors can come in and see how their money is being spent. People I know and trust and who work as volunteers have helped many street children in Africa.
However, there are enough examples of fraud, inefficiency and high salaries and expenses to make it essential to investigate before you give.
I wonder whether Everyone's Children's Trust replied to the shopping centre manager's letter - it is a giveaway if they didn't.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
