Walking through the drive thru

Just curious as to the legality of this?
Can one do it?
If served once before at a drive through, with no issues, is it fair to be refused the next time?
(this is when the restaurant area is closed, and only drive thru open)

I would say that it is a health and safety issue, they are not designed for people to be walking through. If they allow people to walk through and someone got hurt, they could be liable. Blame the ambulance chasers!Gone ... or have I?0

Just don't try walking through a drive through car wash though.0

Just wondering really.
My hubby did it on 24th may, no issues.
Did it today, got verbally abused and when I phoned up to complain I got racially abused.0 -
It would be company policy stopping you doing this.
Because you've done it before doesn't mean it was any more allowed than this time.
But irrespective of whether you can or cannot go through you should not be subjected to any kind of abuse!! I assume you mean by the staff on both times?
You should definitely file a complain with head office about this.0 -
Yes, my husband was given the finger and told "look at the !!!!ing time. It's 9 o' !!!!ing clock, we're closed to you"
And I was told "I don't care what you have to say whitey, !!!! off"
Head office will most definitely be hearing from me tomorrow.0 -

its a DRIVE thru the clue is in the name. you walk through and then you get someone drives in and hits you whos to blame, technically to walk through you are walking on a road (jaywalking) which is an offence
jaywalking is still an offence punishable by the highway traffic act0 -
He shouldn't have been allowed the first time. DH was refused service back in 2002 (He worked nights at the company next door and walked over for his break) and was told "No car, no service".
That does not excuse the abuse though, there is no need for that. A simple "Sorry we can't serve you unless you are in a vehicle" would have done.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0 -
It is company policy not to serve pedestrians or people on bicycles at the drive thru. For health and safety, insurance and liability reasons. He should not have been served the first time he walked through.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0
