a loss leader is something really cheap just to get you into the shop. they dont make any money on that item but hope you buy other stuff to make up for the loss.
Which is why IMHO why they let the meal deal glitch run for so long. How much money did we all spend in seperate transactions whilst we were there. How many times during those weeks did we shop in Morrisons,Asda,Aldi etc. I bet the majority of us spent extra money in Tesco whilst we were in there,I know I did.
Another example of Tesco's wisdom is the beer glitch in Scotland,it was on the evening news that Tesco had beer on offer 3 for £20,okay so a few may have got it for £11 but a cheap advert for tesco IMO.

Doubt it. People that used this deal are savvy and cottage industry would not do that LOL :) I have plenty off wine to last a few months lol

I wonder if it will be the usual - 500 points if you spend £50 online on beer and wine, 1000 points if you take out a Tesco credit card and 1000 points for online insurance???

i bet the extra point will be on strawberry fabric conditioner, dishwashing tablets, fairy washing machine liquard and conditioner. maggie toothbrushes, betty crocker mixes, herbal essence shampoo/conditioner etc etc etc

Yes the shelves seem to be full of this stuff since it was selling so well a month or so ago a large order seems to have been placed to renew the stock at similar quantities rather than work out why suddenly everyone was buying 50 Betty Crocker mixes...:rotfl:

They may now have to shift the stock and use incentives such as extra points OR they are so wary of coming out with any marketing schemes in case the cottage industry of savvy shoppers find a loophole that they are popping on limits just in case
