Morning all - Lou - congrats. I found I avoided sickness by eating little and often - but I suddenly got STARVING and no food in a 10 min walk was safe!!
Strange weekend. MILs cremation yesterday - I cried and was more upset that I'd ever have thought. Spent the weekend cleaning her house ready for relatives to descend, and then on Sunday the sun awning on our camper van was caught by the wind and flipped on to the roof. Very broken, eventually managed to take it off the van and have skipped it today. That will be a pretty penny to replaceCame back in van yesterday bringing with me two of MILs 4 cats who have taken up residence in my bedroom, and who have just reacquainted themselves with our dog - all 3 are probably on the bed.
Done 4 loads of washing since getting in last night, boys now in school and have another load sitting staring at me. Will be spending the weekend at MILs again clearing and cleaning. Plan on making a HUGE casserole to take with us - which can then feed as many people as help to clear and a cake or something similar for pudding. Have put the children on to school dinners this week (not very OS, but I'm needing to catch my breath). Bits for our new ensuite supposed to arrive this morning and then I have a meeting re DS1 this afternoon. Am tempted to say that tea will be from the golden arches (mcdonalds), but resolved at the funeral yesterday to take more than one leaf out of MILs book - so will see what we have in the freezer.
Cats are climbing everywhere so have to rethink storage in childrens rooms and make it so they can't climb behind and not use the litter tray. They're old cats. Love and hugs to those in need. xxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all.
Hugs to all the poorlies today.
Haven't done much today. Just been trying to figure out some mp3 download stuff. Getting nowhere, so gonna wait til dh off work and he can do it in seconds probably. Just made some popcorn for dd2 as she was looking for crisps. Thought popcorn was a better option.
Garden is looking lovely after all the rain. I have about 6 or 7 baby artichoke heads which have appeared all of a sudden! So many raspberries, so I will maybe pick some to put on a pavlova or something, or maybe for the freezer. The kids just tend to go out and nibble away, which I don't mind, as it is healthy, but I would like to make them last a wee bit. Same for the strawberries. May have to hide some of those as well.
Really have to get up to the allotment today and maybe plant some seeds up there and have a good dig. Hope that the ground is slightly softer after all the rain.
Sending positive vibes to all those doing exams. Hope all the studying pays off.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Morning all.
DS1 woke up with stomach ache, so he's off school and back in bed.
House all clean so nothing needs doing today.
Got a gazeboo ( a posh one ) went to zip it up and one side has no zipper, so Garden Centre have got me a replacement curtain I need to pick up.
Rabbits and hamster clean out today.
Baking and trying out new Panni bread maker today. OH said if my bread fails am I going to stick a bought loaf in it and go "volia" when he gets home.
DS2 has new tyre on BMX after 3rd puncture in a week, so he will be off out tonight, we did build him a "ramp of death" in the garden last night all of about 15 inches high - well you have to start somewhere.
DD has her first gymnastics class after school today ( after discovering she can do the splits, she decided she wanted to join) oh the young are so bendy.
Stuffed trout for tea with some sad asparagus that needs using up and tomatoes.0 -
Morning all,
An overcast but bright day today. Having gone to bed early last night feeling a bit rough I woke up this morning much earler than planned and have been plagued by an itchy throat ever since =/ I think I may be in need of a trip to the Dr...although the wait for an appointment at our surgery is usually around three weeks :O (running joke that you even have to schedule illness nowadays I guess).
Need to get around to sorting out one of the cupboards at some point - I've been putting it off for a week or so. It one cupboard where its always chilly and the draught always makes it's way through!
(((Hugs))) to anyone in need of them today

Hi all,
Been following the Daily, but not felt up to posting - however, I have a wee idea re the following:Rosyred:

Hi Floss, thanks for the suggestion,I did used to do this, but found that as our bedroom is above the kitchen,it woke me up once it started kneading:rotfl:(and the dog)Mind you,the smell of fresh bread greeting you in the morning is very nice....x
Do you have another room, away from the bedroom, that you could pop the BM in on a table to do it's work overnight? Just an idea - and it's what I'd do.:o
I'm busy, busy, busy today, as well as tired, tired, tired. I'm behind with the Flylady lists, I have strawberry jam to make tonight (when Mr LW is home to lend a hand), and I have my mate Sidders coming to stay tomorrow for 10 days.
I went into Waitrose yesterday to stock up on tinned toms (theirs are soooooo much nice than the ones in Mr T or Mr M); they only had 2 packs of 4 tins left on the shelf, so I snaffled both - hope it just means they needed a shelf-filler to do a spot of work, it'd be awful if there's going to be a shortage, as we use loads of those!
Anyways, they had strawberries reduced, so we got a load for jamming (please, no Bob Marley comments, I already made that joke, and it went straight over Mr LW's head):D
Right, I really need to go and get on with something.:eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon peeps
For some reason I CBA to write much this afternoon. Having a quick read before I carry on cleaning. Feeling a bit deflated with my p!ss poor ebay sales, really hasn't been worth my whileSeem to be spending money like mad this week, I bought some clothes when I went shopping yesterday (for DD and 2 vests for me), H had decided to spend £70 on a fish tank in the hopes that DS will find it "company" for going off to sleep on his own, we've bought a new tent and am having to buy a few new gubbins for that. I'd got my mum moaning to me about BT bill and various stuff, feel tired and stuck on that hamster wheel. Need a good talking to clearly
Doing housework, popped to see a friend this morning and will be heading off on the school run in 45 mins. Least the sun is out. For now that is
Tea is bacon pasta, need to put a loaf on.
Esmf - Hugs for you honey xx Give yourself time to grieve xx
Lou - I found Olbas oil helpful with my nausea as I would retch alot. Might be worth putting a load on a hanky or something near you when you sleep xx
Sorry the rest of the thread has gone out of my head
Hugs and spoons all round.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Right, I really need to go and get on with something.
I also got some from my local Waitrose yesterday too (Im not a million miles away from you as you know) so I reckon they must have had a glut of them. Anyway my brood snaffled the whole lot for their tea last night:eek::eek::eek:
Well Ds2 thought his history exam went ok but he is so tired tonight. Always so laid back (normally he is horizontal) it has upset me to see him so stressed. Anyway he has a break for a couple of days and then back to it. Looking forward to tea as I have homegrown cabbage. Yummy xxx
Hugs ESMF xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Hello everyone  Hope you are all well
Been hectic here as we are currently trying to get our new house habitable before we have to move in. It is a total wreak and has no bathroom/kitchen  so not much OS'ing going on (well, unless you count cleaning the skirting boards by removing them with a crowbar). We did go to the local PYO farm last week and OH got some strawberries and I picked some asparagus
JackieO - All too common I'm afraidMine you, OH applied for a university fellowship last month; printed off his application then handed it to me so I could drop it on on my way to work - and he'd addressed the envelope in bright green marker pen *facepalm*
emsf - I'm sorry for your loss
Bitsy - hug for you (and virtual cake)
Good luck for all those with exams
have a good day, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
