Morning all.
I have loads of housework today. On Tuesdays I tutor a pupil from home so have to make sure the house is tidy! Lots of washing to do as well - hopefully the sun will stick around long enough for me to actually dry it this time; last time it started to rain about 20 min after I put it out.
Have woken up with a headache which is making me most irritated especially since I went to bed with it last night - might have to take some pills but I hate doing that as it makes me dopey!
I also have some recipes to type out. I have loads and loads of recipe books - I want to type up the recipes I want to keep - firstly as then I can get rid of the books and declutter and also can sell them, maybe on Amazon. It's going to take me ages to type them up but if I do a couple a day I will get there eventually.
Butterfly Brain, I know exactly what you mean - empty loo rolls never seem to find their way in to the bin - that seems to be my job!
Lou - hope you feel better soon. I second the ginger recommendation.
Hope you all have a good day!0 -
Morning all,
Beautiful day here, have got the wm on the go with a load of towels, another load to go in after.
Went and picked dad up yesterday, he came home with us for a few hours, he had a cup of tea and a slice of banana cake, then said would you mind if I have a snooze, so he slept on the sofa for a couple of hours, woke up had another cuppa and cake by which time he had to be back :rotfl:, will do the same this afternoon though as it makes a change for him.
Dinner tonight is baked bean pie with some bacon, will get dd to make the pie, I have several hours of office work to do, so need to crack on with that.
Congratulations to Lou :T
Have good days all xx0 -
morning!
not in work till this afternoon so pottering this morning and doing lots of odd jobs. Ironing is the main one.
Damp here this morning so washing hung indoors.
Not too happy with DS2 today - he staggered in at 1.45am drunk!
He wasn't sick though so at least I'm grateful for that. He's sleeping it off but I've been vaccuming the stairs and landing outside his bedroom door;):D He's got work at 1pm so hope he's recovered by then.
I'm eating dinner at work so DH is cooking for the 2 of them - probably an easy tea from the freezer. I'll have a jacket spud at work as its boiling bacon on the menu there which I wont eat.
Good luck to all those doing exams today!
Lou - hope the sickness goes away x
BB - I might seek a second opinion as 4 weeks is a long time to be living with pain like that!
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone!
Haven't been around much, things have been very busy with mum, great aunty etc. DS has got his place for college next year, so I came home from work last night to an announcement that he has left school, so will need to find him some chores to keep him out of mischief until our hols, 2 weeks on Saturday! He can help clean up the house today as the surveyor is coming tomorrow to plan the new kitchen and bathroom, hurrah- I've only waited 16 years for them, so not a day overdue........
Off to drag teenwolf from his cave, have a good day all!RIP Iain

Morning All,
I am home with the sick child. I need to work Friday instead which is a pain, but I am lucky that I can do that and not lose a day's wages. The wee one was looking peaky this morning too, I just hope he can hang off 'til the weekend.
So I am going to be busy today, I need to menu plan, do an online shop possibly, clean the downstairs floors and hoover the stairs as son number one is in no fir state to do his chores. I also need to get some bread made, and some twinks too.
Hugs spoons and hi fives all round.

Good morning.
Congrats Lou. I certainly felt worse with morning sickness and tiredness when I had my 2nd and 3rd son, especially my 3rd. I had 2 toddlers to look after then and just wanted to lie and die on the settee!! We all went for a sleep in the afternoon, which was good.
Gardening wise, well done on the runner beans - I think this shows the difference of the temperature etc coming up from south towards the north. Another gardening forum I go on has lots of gardeners already having gluts of strawberries etc, whereas mine are just starting to ripen.
I might go down allotment for a spell today while the weather is nice. Plenty to do in the house though, but there always is. DH not working until 4pm today.
Not sure what having for tea tonight, but chucks are laying better now, so it may involve eggs - I got 10 yesterday from 12 chickens, best ever.
Have a good day, enjoy the sunshine.

Morning all.
Hope all you poorlies get better soon x
I could have started this thread today as baby woke at 5am. I think he has his very back teeth coming through. He had lots of dirty nappies yesterday & a sore bottom. He's quite happy now though & is munching his way through the fruit bowl.
I've got the childrens bedding in the machine. 1 load is already out. The DW has been emptied & I did a hot empty cleaning cycle on it.
Need to swish upstairs today.
I am really tired though & will have 40 winks when the baby has a nap.
The cat is hounding me. She must be hungry. Again.
Lou I was only extremely nauseous with DD. I was put on a drip & stuff. Was ok on DS1 & 2. In fact I craved spicy foods! Rest as much as you can. Try & have a dry water cracker every now & then & a few sips of water.
I'm going to make a banana cake as I have a few bananas on the turn. And also some rice crispie cakes for the children.
Take care all
love (((hugs))) & spoons

Good Morning all Good luck to all who have exams or offspring with exams ,very stressy time for everyone. When my eldest was doing her government & politics 'A' levelback in 1985 she was horrendous to live with and spent most of her time in her bedroom with large pots of coffee and cream crackers and cheese revising.Bless her she did well and passed with flying colours, but I wouldn't want to go through that again:).Speaking of which she sent me this email yesterday from her work
<<Mum, the below came into our office emails today to apply
for a teaching post! beggars belief!

That was exactly as she received it at work, I think too many younsters rely on 'text speak' to apply for jobs .How could they teach if the can't write a proper letter of application.
She works in a local special needs school and loves every minute of it .It is her dream job that she has been in for the past 10 years. Her DD, my DGD is working there part-time as a TA for the rest of this term as she then starts Uni in October as she wants to teach special needs children as well.
Well I've done the school run and the sun is shining quite nicely after the deluge yesterday .The ground in the south-east was so dry as we hadn't had rain for weeks and it just soaked it up like blotting paper.I am almost watching the garden weeds sprouting today after the rain.
NSD's for me until Friday this week as I have more than enough to keep me going .Using up some of the salad bits for most of this week. Some ironing to do later when it cools down a little Hope everyone has a productive day
Cheers chums

P.S. Lou have you tried rich tea biscuits with a cuppa before you get up it worked for me when I was pregnant many years ago0 -

So, just went up to the loo. Shut baby (aged 2.2) in the living room. I came out of the bathroom to discover he can open the living room door, climb the stairs & shut the stair gate behind him.
We don't have a stair gate at the bottom as dh broke it by "saving time" by climbing over it but getting caught on the catch & breaking it.
I may have to get one. He can pay for it though.
