Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
morning all. noone up yet??
have been up and down again all night
just telling myself it will pass or i hope so
plan today is sitting for hours waiting for a blood test:eek: then into town, then picking ds up from nursery, then swimming. phew
no idea what is going to be food wise. i'm going off everything. not good for an already fussy eater
thanks for all the congrats
have good day all

Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, chicken & salad sarnies, I've put petrol in the car, fed the fish, fed next doors cat, loaded the DW etc.
Time to go to work soon, last night I shortened a charity shop skirt & nearly finished my handfasting dress, I need to hem it tonight & make the underskirt, neither of which will take long.
Tea tonight will be pork chops for hubby with HG potatoes, cabbage, peas, last night we had our first runner beans from the garden.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Dry, bright and sunny here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Work yesterday was horrendously busy again, not enough staff as either off or sick, hoping today will be less busy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg - really enjoyed, as fish is one of my favourites. DS1 has Cadets tonight so will be quickie tea for both boys, heart attack on a plate for DH (egg & bacon etc), and jacket pot with salad etc for me.
Washing is already out on the line, possibly got enough to put another wash on. DH should be putting some items up in the loft tonight and searching for our rechargeable torch that we can't find anywhere! Have been reading the flylady posts and will be endeavouring to join, but need to get to a reasonable starting point (need to do the major de-clutter which I have started). Did sort paperwork from a paper rack last night - had docs from 18+ months ago in there, have another one the same, so will possibly tackle that tonight.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning everyone,
Congratulations Lou, hope the blood test goes ok.
I was much sicker during pregnancy with DD1 and DD2 than I was with DS, might be because I was tired as I had a toddler to look after.
DS has a history GCSE today, hope it goes ok as he has actually been working quite hard, well hard by his usual standards anyway.
Washing is on line and kids off to school with packed lunches.
Tea tonight is sausages is HM barbecue sauce and HM wedges then I am off dancing!
DD1 thought her exam went well yesterday but we won't know the results for 6 weeks.
Have a good day everyone.:)0 -
bargainbird - i hate ginger :eek::o
moorhen - its only at night that it is really affecting me. i guess during the day i can keep myself busy to distract myself from thinking about it. perhaps it is tiredness making it worse but i cant sleep as i am up and down thinking i am going to be sick "I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Good morning everyone.
HH what variety of runner beans do you grow? This is superbly early to be eating home grown - you and hubby must have green fingers, thumbs and toes:)
Washing to go out on the line - it is beautifully bright at the moment:)
Need to have a look at all the leftovers and make soup or fritatta or something!
Have a good Tuesday everyone. Hugs to those in need or who want them.

Morning All
Much brighter today so WM is on and I am off to strip all the beds after I get off the computer.
DS is now starting A2 course work even though he is leaving at the end of term and going to college. But as he says it will give him something to do and he will still get his EMA which will pay for the £100 that he needs to buy things for his course at college.
Plan to declutter the bathroom and give it a good scrub today - I wish my lot would learn to throw empty bottles/toilet roll tubes in the recycling instead of leaving them in the bathroom.
Well I am off to get started before DH gets home and stops me
Have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Good Morning x
The stress in our house is palpable this morning. Another day of exams:(
Still the sun is shining and im off for a cuppa and chat with Mooloo soon. We are planning a girly couple of days away mid July to celebrate her 50th birthday so there is quite a lot to get organised :T:T:T
I have just had a wonderful compliment from the electrician who has come to finish off the wet room. Oh yes he said I knew which was your house as it (the house) smiles at me as I drive by:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Very prosaic words from the electrician and made me happy:T:T:T

My DD had a change of course at the end of AS and started again at college. She has dyslexia and the help she has got from college compared to school has been amazing. She has blossomed and im sure your son will be very happy there xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
