Success at last!
After constant protest with Lloyds TSB over the past week or so I recieved a letter today saying they have credited my account with £50.

I have two questions on the A&L premier plus account
1) Can the £1000 be money shuttled to and from an A&L online saver?
2) Are these type of transfers same day (do you have this combo and have tried it?)

As far as I understand it the Premier Plus account requires £1000 to be deposited in the account each month, i.e. your salary. It can be shifted across to the online saver and vice versa. The transfer is instant.

I originally was using the Premier Plus Account and the A&L Plus Saver Account (it came linked with the Premier Account). I didn't change as the online saver account with A&L was the same interest. However, discovered other providers offer better rates, so needless to say have shifted money about. Keeping Premier Plus Account as no-one comes near giving that interest on a current account!

What I was asking was would moving £1000 from savings into the current account and back each month count as paying in £1000?. My salary is commited to another account. Each bank is different and its hard to tell whether this will be OK even from the T&Cs. So, I need someone who is successfully doing it to verify this!

Terms & Conditions :

32.2 You must pay the minimum monthly credit into Your Account each month, which We will notify, to You. Credit transfers to the Account from other Alliance & Leicester accounts will not count towards the minimum monthly credit.

I always pay from other bank. Never tried to pay from other A&L account because:

Under-funding fee (failure to pay the minimum monthly credit) £5 per month

2) Are these type of transfers same day (do you have this combo and have tried it?)

In my statements they are the same date. However, I remember somebody reporting that it is is not always the case.

The problem with moving money from another bank is the time it is 'lost' in the banking netherworld. Still the opening incentives are pretty big with this account

I looked at this e-savings account. The sneaky thing with this is that you lose interest if you withdraw money from the account and from memory I think you lose a months interest on the entire balance. This means if you have £200 in the account and take £30 out then you lose interest on the remaining £170.

So not so good ...
