  • Dear grumbler & Frank1in,

thought you could do both - as in open a Lloyd's account (point taken about potential problems), get bonus 50 quid. Then, you can also recommend a friend and they get 40 and you get 40 quid. Martin has previously suggested then that the first person could give the "recommendee" another 10 quid so they get 50 quid in total, just like they would have if they had opened an account themselves, so all is fair and square.

Frank1in - If we weren't *complete* strangers, I'd be up for pretending to be your friend!!!

Never mind, good luck, maybe you know someone else on the forum a little better?

I applied already online but I haven't had the pack through the post yet so is it too late to get referred now? If not can someone be my referral please? Also I didn't see any mention of a £25 cheque for registering online when I signed up yesterday??

My understanding is that this works only for in-branch applications:
...pass the completed form onto your friend/ family member and make sure that they hand the form to the member of Lloyds TSB staff opening the account.
If you switch your £1000+ salary you still are eligible for £50 bonus.
  • Martin recommends getting a nationwide debit card to make purchases/cash withdrawals abroad.

What is involved with setting this up?? i.e. do you have to deposit a certain amount to open the account with?

Do you have to pay in a certain amount per month??

Any other snags?? How straightforward is it???

How long to get your debit card :j

Thanks for your help. Don't want to phone Nationwide in case they 'sales pressurise' me into opening account until I know what i'm letting myself in for.

(Sorry if this question has already been asked)

I opened a LTSB account in December and have since made the 2 £1000 credits but have just been told that the T&Cs required me to SWITCH my salary to LTBS. I'm pretty sure that this wasn't the case when I applied but don't have a copy of the offer. What should I do? Can someone confirm that there was no salary switch condition in December - with screen shot?

    Thanks,
    Adam

No. I think £1 will be sufficient amount.

    No

    No

Apply in a branch if you want to make this faster. Application involves credit scorring (as for any current account). Depending on the result this account comes either with a debit card (Visa) or a cash card (Cirrus). Cash card has the same advantages as their debit card for withdrawing cash abroad. Later you can ask for upgrade.

"set up a regular monthly payment of £1,000 or more through our Account Transfer Unit "
So salary is not mentioned but their ATU is. They asked me at the time of opening if I wanted to transfer and I said no because I want to leave my DD/salary account with Halifax since they are 5 minutes from my house but I'd like to transfer £1000 per month into this account to make use of the higher interest. They didn't say then that I'd be disqualified from the £50...
Will I not get anywhere if I complain then?? Seems like I gone though a lot of effort for nothing.
When Martin highlighted the £50 I don't think he supposed you'd have to switch your salary. Otherwise its not worth the effort...

    Hi there...

Has anyone got any experience/idea how long A&L takes, on average, to send you all the information needed to run a new account once you have sent to them you signed agreement?

    Thanks
  • HI,

Does anyone know if you can open and A+L current account through quidco (£50 cashback) and still get the £100 refer a friend money (£50 for each)?

    Thanks
