Letter all posted, so now to the hardest part - the wait lol.  Did my final very brief trip to work today and apart from delivery of nieces present in the morning and to collect a food parcel at 11, we wont need to venture out at all until schools go back in theory if we don't want to.  We have enough nice food (as well as regular food) to keep us going for some time and all of our gifts are here.  Need to tidy ready for the big day and get washing up to date but that shouldn't be a problem hopefully. XH is now going to drop gifts off Thursday pm, lucky us.  It came out today through the children that i am being childish and he doesn't want me speaking to his family.  Well that is tough luck because if i didn't take them to see his nana no one would.  She has been there for me and the the kids since before he left.  I know the only reason he doesn't want me speaking to them is because i have told them the other side of the story and that is much more believable to everyone, which in turn makes him out to be the bad guy.  It does mean however next time his step mum walks into my house uninvited i can say i cant speak to her lol.  Anyway back to happy thoughts.   I will not let him taint my christmas with the kids :)

You are a star. Don't let him get your way. He's like a fly on your windshield. Swat him off and carry on with your Christmas. You're a wonder star with your organisation and your brilliance in including everybody that matters. Well done for being so prepared. I'm writing out my list for braving the shops this week. Considering going in the night for a bit of quiet. Xxx

Aw thank you.  I will do my best that's for sure, not to let him affect me and the kids christmas.  I am certainly one for planning and making lists so that's the only reason i am ready and can avoid the shops.  I will start planning again come boxing day lol.  I think late at night may be the way to go if they are open.

Afternoon.  We have delivered all gifts (apart from niece's but they are visiting briefly in the garden tomorrow morning as they were busy today) and i have collected a food parcel.  It is lovely and has the ingredients for Christmas dinner as well and bits for boxing day - large sausage roll to make.  I really am overwhelmed by the generosity of so many of the groups that i have been in touch with since becoming a single mum.  I obviously live in a good area re support, but realise not everyone has such luck and are still going to miss out on many things.  I will certainly be paying them back with help and donations if and when I can in the future.
Booked MOT for early January so will need fingers crossed.  Now XH not about to look after the car, i have to rely on the small amount of knowledge i know (not a lot).  My dad did change my break light the other day so all lights are working which i guess is good lol.  Its not had a service since i have had it but over lockdown it barely moved so not done many miles.  I might see if i can book it in for a service as well.

Well just as i thought things were going ok i get a letter through the door notifying me the builder we suspected would build out the back of our house, has put in a planning application.  It would mean my 4 parking spaces would be reduced to 1 on my drive / garden.  We knew this was coming, but i had hoped to have gone by then.  On one of the maps it looks like i actually have no access to my drive at all.  They caused so much trouble just putting up a fence and clearing the area early on in the year.  I cant put up with building 3 houses.

Well come boxing day we are going into tier 4.  It wasn't unexpected and we are happy to sit tight until we can be allowed out safely.  I did wonder if it might happen from tonight, but looks like it is from boxing day.

Well we have just finished watching our panto.  Online this year and meal deal takeaway from our usual pizza place we would normally have visited.   Kids liked the novelty of it all but it wasn't the same.  Still had us all shouting 'he's behind you' etc at the screen.  It was better that we could snuggle under duvets and blankets in our pjs though, and also better than no panto at all.
Not much planned for tomorrow other than to sort a bit more of the house and food,  need to cook the ham and peal the veg.
We might also make a start on the Christmas puzzle tomorrow

Ham cooked, vegetables peeled, yorkshire pudding mix ready  (in old milk carton in the fridge, so hoping kids don't put it on their cereal!).  So tomorrow all i need to do it stick everything in the oven and let it cook.  I was going to make up a trifle but no room in the fridge so that will have to wait until there is space.  Just had some of XH's family turn up and let themselves in - no respect for covid.  We stayed back and have sprayed the disinfectant around

Oh my! I couldn't deal with that.
And my veg is sat unpeeled. That's tomorrow mes problem lol
I'm sure there's something I've forgotten but oh well.
As for your neighbours planning permission ask friends and family to make complaints too. You have a right to use your own space. I have a friend going through something similar and it's all in such close proximity there's no way it won't cause problems.
I hope you have a truly lovely Christmas 🎄 lots of lovely time with your kids. You deserve it xxxx

Hi Kitten, thank you.  I wanted to get bits done so I wasn't rushing around tomorrow.  I'm sure we have all forgotten something, but as you say tough luck as its too late now.  XH has dropped a big pile of gifts off for the kids - i guess we know why he needed to loan!  And as my mum say 'You Can't Buy Love'. I guess i have to be grateful his mistress hasn't sent any presents this time.
DD2 has been a right pain since he came and left.  Even the threat of Santa hasn't stopped her behaviour. It might be a very early night for her, and then me lol
I hope everyone who reads my ramblings has a wonderful day tomorrow and can connect with family members even if only by phone.  Merry Christmas to you all xx
