I don't suppose it matters which if any of you have had legal advice if you have both agreed. The problems occur if you don't agree. My sister and her ex husband agreed she would keep two thirds of the value of the house and get one third of his pension. Whether or not you owning the house originally affects the settlement depends I guess on the length of the marriage and how long you have both lived in the house.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Evening everyone. I explained again to the solicitors and they said my initial meeting probably doesn't count as advice so I have gone with 'no legal advice received'. Thank you everyone for the advice. Today I got an email from the divorce people to say my certificates are in the post and I am officially divorced / single. So I guess that's it. Mum and sister think I should celebrate, but I am more sad that it had to end. Guess I am not quite there yet. I think it will be more final when the money is also sorted.
I've got a full day of staff training tomorrow which I would rather not be going to but hey that's life. I am hoping to back to the christmas spirit after its doneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

OK training day done and I've written a list of things I need to get done today and this week. Must get Christmas jumpers down from the loft and wash before tomorrow as Santa is coming to preschool and we are having a socially distance Christmas sing along in the car park. I've place my food orders for over the Christmas period so glad I have my slots now and then hopefully it will be back to normal. Still need to nip out for a few bits I cant get on normal order. Just nana to find something for Christmas - she is always the most difficult to buy for as wants and needs nothing. All she would like is a cuddle (so would we) but just not safe enough yet.
Last night DD1 took some photos for our Christmas quiz. Going to zoom in and see if the family can work out what they are. I have also got some questions off the internet so think we are nearly there. Need to print the photos off and send in sealed envelopes to family members with their cards and get zoom booked. Still also need to get dad going on zoom or he will not get to join in - our test the other day failed so need him here to try again.
Have a lovely day everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay we made it to the end of school / work. Slight panic on the way to drop everyone off, we got a message from DD2's school saying they had had a positive case. Luckily not in her year so it was school as normal. I really think we have been lucky that so far none of us have had to isolate as yet (touching lots of wood right now lol). I feel for the teachers as they have probably been putting things off until the holidays before getting bits finished. Now they will have to quarantine so cant complete things. I also feel for the teachers that are now not having their relaxing break after such a tough year and are having to sort out the return to high schools.
Ok so i have sorted all presents and all but a few have been wrapped. Some delivered and others i have arranged delivery / collection . I have printed out a calendar to organise what we have to do when (it was starting to get jumbled in my head). My uncle is still hoping to come and stay, but will call nearer the time with final decision.
I have finally got all of the financial paperwork, so i can get XH (Ex Husband - well look at that lol) to sign in when collecting the children on sunday. I am wondering if the local post office is open on Sunday - they have been in the past. That way i can get it in the post too without children in towMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Wow! You're a one woman whirlwind! I'm very impressed. Hope you're all broken up for Xmas now and can just focus on your fun things.
And final bit on the divorce!! You will be going into the new year completely free from him!
I've not been lucky with booking shopping slots for delivery and I'm still waiting on a few presents to turn up but definitely getting there. My turkeys ordered and thats the main thing.
My children have outgrown all their shoes and desperately need hair cuts. Fun trying to sort that out over Christmas. XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Thanks Kitten, but unfortunately XH will still be attached to me until the judge signs the paperwork (about 16 week wait), but certainly a lot closer once he signs it. Just been watching the news and guess my Uncle will no longer be coming to us for Christmas which is a shame as he is all by himself, but no point traveling here (about 4 hours travel) for just the 1 day. I am glad he took his presents home with him last time he was here. I am however quite looking forward to it just being me and the kids for our first Christmas without XH. Doing it our way and making new traditions (although not hoping for covid restrictions every year!).Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Oh I know- it all drags on but at least your not going to need to chase him for a signature any more! Just getting to this hurdle is so great.
I'm totally knocked sideways with the latest development. Its so last minute to do this. As you say it's so upsetting for people on their own xxxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
