SAHM paying off debts slowly

Well from my spreadsheet there is not much in the figures but it is the fact he can work overtime. With his current driving job he can only work as many hours as is allowed per government rules and tacos. With the new job he can work as many as he likes as it is not just driving. He will be working in the yard too so taco rules don't really come into it. If he could get a decent amount of overtime it would certainly make it worth it over time. They are a very family orientated business too so make sure they shut over Christmas for example. Where OH is at the moment Christmas day is closed but they are almost expected to work the rest of the year. Guess we will need to see if we can get a car he can use to get there and back. I also need to remind him that although more money will be coming into the bank the dmp will take more so not really any better off until we pay it off.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi I received my elect and gas bill today and were in £18.95 credit. This is after 6 months and over winter. They want to reduce my dd amount from 61 to 30 per month. I know I am in credit but to reduce it by half seems a little over the top and I don't want to be in debt with them come next time. Don't get me wrong the extra £31 per month would be lovely but only if it is worked out right. I think I would rather have the credit there ready for next winter so I don't have to worry about itMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Good morning - kids packed off to school nice and early today. Eldest is doing her sats this week so the school have put on a breakfast club for them to make sure they all get a decent breakfast. She came home yesterday happy with her first paper and today is the one she enjoys the most so fingers crossed she will do well in it.
As we were at school earlier than normal it meant I could get home and get on with the day. So far I have checked the bank for anything going out - all expected expenses so I now know where I am at. Also done a meal plan for when mum arrives in a few weeks - she has told me she wants healthy food which will fit in with my SW diet so hopefully I shouldn't go astray there. Only thing is she doesn't like mince or pasta much which are 2 staple ingredients in our house. Anyway lots of veg dishes and chicken curries bulked out.
Got lots more to do before collecting the kids - accounts for scouts, washing and putting clothes away, hovering, dinner for tonight and much more. OH birthday tomorrow so would like to make him a little bday cake or banana loaf as her prefers them. He didn't want bday pressies but he did need some work shorts so that is what he has - not much but a token gift from the kids.
Hubby told currently boss of his job offer in the hope they might finally get their bum into gear and sort out the payrise that they have been promising for over 6 months - still no sign of it being sorted. They are useless to be honest - they had a member of staff assault another at least 6 months ago. I am sure most companies would have sacked them on the spot but they didn't do anything. The witnesses are still yet to be spoken to. There are lots of promises that management will sort it but they seem to be very empty promises. It really is a joke. Moral is very low at the moment.
Ok I best get on - have a great day everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well OH has just rung to say he will be home early as cant get next container off docks yet so an early finish. He is hoping to change wheels on the back of the car in the hope that this might be what is wrong with the car. Don't get me wrong it is still fairly rotten underneath but if we can keep it going for just a little longer by using the bits we have from racing it will do. If it is not just the wheels we will see how much it will cost to fix. He can do the work (well most things) so its just parts to pay for.
He was talking about hiring a car for when we need to do distance journeys (a few coming up) but if we can mend the car this will be another expense not needed (although he pays for this out of his money).Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

What a lovely day. The sun is shining and 3 loads of washing are hanging on the line. I don miss the convenience of the tumble dryer but I love having washing on the line. One more load to do then the bed sheets to be done. Hoping for another sunny day tomorrow then I shouldn't need to do any washing until Monday.
OH birthday today so making him a banana loaf for his bday cake. Its good as I am not that keen on it so wont effect weight loss. Trying so hard to be good this week. Looking forward to lunch as my tummy in rumbling!
Right off to hang another load out - have a lovely day peopleMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Quick update while eldest DD fafs around getting ready for school. We used our free tickets yesterday to go to a local farming event. Dad drove us there as car may not have made it all of the way. We took pack lunch and juice bottles so didn't spend a penny at all. Dad did buy us all a ice cream which was very nice and if he hadn't have said anything the kids wouldn't have even asked. He didn't bring his lunch and had to buy bits over the day £3 for a small cup of coffee! I think not. He also on the way in promised the kids a go on the amusements if they behaved. When we go somewhere like this normally the kids know its going to happen so just enjoy the rest of the free entertainment. They were allowed to choose 1 go on something. £5 each for a few minutes amusement. DD's chose bouncing on trampolines whilst DS chose fair ride that span him around and up and down - really not my kind of thing but he was very sure he wanted to go on it - my goodness me his face turns from happy smiley to fear and sickness within seconds. I think for me on the ground and him in the carriage it was the longest 2 1/2 mins going. How he didn't pass out or throw up was beyond me. He got off and goes 'that was great fun' with a big smile on his face. Kids! Anyway next time no amusements as far too much money. Also must remember its time to start packing the suncream because although it was raining when we arrived I now have a burnt face from the sun that appeared! Hello all. Well mum arrives tomorrow and I am up cleaning like a mad woman - sure she wouldn't moan too much if it was only respectable rather than spotless. I have had a busy few weeks sorting out the charity show we are putting on - 2 weeks to go - think we are nearly there now. Also been working on scout accounts for their agm. I was also poorly at the weekend but pretty sure it was down to the fact my body needed a rest and I kept going. I should know better.
DS hasn't been himself and after speaking with his teacher she has noticed it too. It been going on a few weeks. He is super sensitive and takes everything to heart. Some of the kids have been calling him names - nothing nasty but he cant differentiate between being nasty and 'joking' type. Anyway he has finally told me what has been going on so tomorrow I can have words with the teacher and see if we can cheer him up. I feel for him because all of his class are just so much more mature than him and the gap seems to be getting bigger. He just cant process things like the rest of them so gets frustrated and upset. That with his dyslexia and his low self esteem the poor boy has had enough. Lets hope his teacher and I can help.
Luckily tax credits have now caught up with the information that I have told them and is currently paying the extra I believe I am entitled to. It will make things just that little easier. OH has upped his amount too. Only by a little until end of july but its still gone up.
Being treated to a day out by my sister and mum on Saturday. It was my bday in jan and I didn't want anything. So they are taking me for a day of shopping for things for me - not the kids - I have quite a list of essential things that I could do with, and I am sure there will be some wants there too.
Ok I am off to bed as a very busy day tomorrow, full of cleaning and waiting for mum to arrive. NightMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hello - well mum has been and gone. We had a lovely day shopping and I was well and truly spoilt but both my sister and mum. Money is ticking over ok but can always cut down somewhere I am sure (food I reckon) and we are now on the countdown to the summer holidays.
I have a raffle to organise (emails and letters sent Tuesday) and a few end of term events to get ready for. Other than that I am now organising the house and the activities ready for end of school. We are again following the a-z summer holiday plan as it gives my son a little more structure as he doesn't cope well in the holidays.
I find it quite amusing that those who have known me for a while have already booked in their days with us as they know our calendar is already underway and that the days will be booked up before long.
Quick post today as off to sort out something for tonights dinner. Have a great dayMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well that's all 3 sports days done and dusted. I had 2 today which has taken it out of me. All I did was watch but in this heat I could easily have a nap right now. Anyway early to bed for me today.
I got talking to one of the mums about my daughters move to high school next year. I told her of my fb find - 4 x polo shirts (fancy ones they have to have with logo - rrp £12.99 each!) for £10. I was very excited! Anyway her daughter has been there 2 years and like my daughter was very diddy when she started. She has more polo shirts, pe jumper, sweatshirts and skirts I can have - she was only going to get rid of them into charity shop. I am very grateful as I was worrying over the cost of it all. Anyway she will bring it on Friday when she is next in. I will offer her some money but have a feeling it may just be donated to us. I had allowed £300 in total for all 3 kids uniform and extra equipment they say she needs. This donation / reduced amount will drastically reduce the bill!
Am on summer holiday countdown now too and filling in the calendar with things to do. Cutting down food bills too as starting to slip with this budget. Finding myself visiting the shops too frequently for bits and coming out with bags full - not good. Back to basics for usMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well the weather has changed a lot since last weeks scorching sports days. Tax credits have been renewed and I think I am now on a constant amount rather than it changing each week. That should help with the budgeting.
No sign of the donation of uniform yet - will give it a little while before u get up the nerve to ask again - seems a but rude to keep pestering her.
Having an issue with ants in the kitchen at the moment so we are trying to keep everything clear and clean. Just when I think we have got rid of them all another few turn up!
I feel really tired again - think I am just doing too much and a lot of activities are having end of season/term events that require me to do things. Nearly summer holidays so perhaps not scheduled time for getting up will help a little.
Right off to lidl for a few bitsMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
