SAHM paying off debts slowly

Well i rang cccs today and went through everything. I currently pay £109 per month and although OH wages have gone up a little tax credits have gone down. They now say i need to pay £183 per month. Really not sure if i can afford that. It does all work out on paper but in real life i am just not sure. They emailed the budget and i am going to try to come up with an amount i think we can definatley afford, yet one will make people we have debts with happy, and then give them a call back.
Other than that nothing much else has happened today. Well i will sleep on the above and start again in the morning. Night night allMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi there i have decided that i can afford £150 to the DMP so hoping that when i call them on monday that will be accectable. Can also put a little more into the emergency fund for those unexpected things that just go wrong.
I have sorted all birthdays for march so just need to sort 2 in april, and then may also sorted. Feel glad this months is out of the way as there are a lot plus mothers day and a wedding. Costing me a fortune , even if some of them are only getting cards.
Well mum landed in uk yesterday and went straight to her mums for a few weeks before coming to stay with us for a few more weeks (plus the wedding is around here). Sister has asked me to arrange a meeting the night before the wedding as they are both invited but since the divorce have not spoken (sisters choice). I am glad they are getting it over and done with before the wedding though as it would have been very awkward
Have had quite a cheap week as i have been using meals out of the freezer. Had a few things twice but never mind. Also made some lovely cakes this week rather than buying them, although this has probably not done me any good weight wise.
Bought an ex-hire dress for the wedding. It was worth £160 and looks lovely. I only paid £20 so am very happy with that. Hoping to borrow friends shoes and bag to go with it as i only seem to own boots and trainers which really do not go with it!
Anyway better go as i am expecting visitors - have been for last hour but no show as yetMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi there i got the dress from a small town nearby. I only went in there to see if i could hire a dress but then the sales assistant said it would be cheaper to buy an exhire one if there were any i liked. Guess i was just lucky.
Got a very busy week ahead. Have made a todo list. Tried to print it out but printer playing upAnyway working my way down it. Would like to get kitchen finished in the morning and then off to tip with a lot of black bags again then that just leaves a lot of traveling here and there plus lots of paperwork. Taking friend off to hospital appoint thursday and need to get ready for mum to turn up. Want to paint other side of my stairs as well. I best get off here and carry on. So much to do and so little time

Afternoon all. Been really busy this morning and not sure where time has gone. Hoping to have sold a few bits on FB - people are coming to collect tomorrow and friday - so that should be another £20 to put into washing machine fund!
Also booked repair appointment for my dishwasher as that is also playing up. I have been paying a fee each month for the past year so that shouldnt cost anything - i hope.
Spoke to cccs. The bloke i spoke to today says that i can keep payments the same and up food. Apparently for 5 people an average amount for food is £548 ish a month. We had £350 (which i still thought was high). He has put the difference in income to this so we can keep the payments the sameVery happy with this as now i should actually be able to cope. I cant imagine the food trolly if i spent that much per month. My food cupboards and i would be a lot bigger!
Oh well i better go and hoover upstairs before doing the school run. Hope everyones having a great dayMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I know! When i last went through my budget they told me that i could also have £548  and i was like 'noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, seriously?' :rotfl: and when i told him i got my shopping in for £250 a month he was like 'noooooooooo, you must have it wrong! That's far too cheap even if you have swapped to liDl or @ldi' :rotfl:
We eat pretty well for that too! Had steak 3 times last month
I def don't waste as much food though and i reckon that is why my bill used to be so high
well done on the fb sales :jMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Thanks - Maybe i should be having steak every night! We would definately live like kings here on that much. I feel really happy and like everything is going well today. This almost guarentees for failure and everything going wrong in the morning, but i will enjoy for nowMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Wow they let you have how much for food :rotfl:! I don't think I have ever used the equivalent of that. Well done on negotiating yourself some wiggle room. Now you know that you can start saving an emergency fund from the difference, and that will sure take a lot of stress off you once that starts filling up.
Well done for not burying your head

Thanks for everyones comments. I might go fill my imaginary trolly with a weeks food online just for fun. Got my new roads for my Avon the other day and went to see where they were today. It works out that they are actually joined onto the ones i already do so i just need to work out which routes i will do. Already printed out my letters i put with the books so need to get those bagged up and delivered.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
