Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 5th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Hester, BB and all who follow,

I echo what Hester says, go to the Dr about your leg BB.

Dull and overcast here this morning but I have still put the washing on the line, you never know!

DS and DD2 back to school today so packed lunches made and OH has gone off to work with his. DD1 very nervous as we are off to Manchester for her big ballet exam, I am sure that she will be fine as soon as she starts dancing.

Tea tonight is curry made with the leftover chicken from last night.

Hope you all have a good day.:)

Hope your leg starts to get better soon BB

Twas a bit of a struggle to get out of bed this morning. I don't really need to get up till about 8 as i live so close to work, but i like to get up early to enjoy some time to myself as OH is either already at work or having a lay in (like today - boo rain going away we need money!)

The rain means i still have a pile of washing todo as they just don't dry quickly inside! So will hopefully manage to put another load on tonight.

Can't decide if i want porridge for breakfast or not today! I'm in that kind of mood, and lunch is light - crackers with light dairylea and a cuppa soup.

Dinner tonight i think will be chicken chow mein as have 2 breasts that need cooking up. Then i need to rummage through the freezer to work out dinners for the rest of the week! Thats something to think about later though, i'm sure we've got plenty in.

    Have a lovely day all!

Morning bargain bird and all who follow

    We have had rain smiley-happy053.gif

Poor garden has been gasping for some and it has rained since yesterday evening and all night.

Plans for today are to go to trade shop and then try and cram it into the freezer. Then start a bit more decluttering.
DS has his last exam today smiley-happy057.gifwhich is a 2 hour Physics exam.
Then I really hope he will take a chill pill.

Well I had better go and get him out of his pit

    Have good days everyone x

    Morning everyone

Dull, cold and wet here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Boys now eating brekkie and getting ready for school. Been quite productive again over the weekend, sorted my make-up and dressing table drawers, have thrown several bits away and sorted into my samsonite storage box, still haven't condensed it down enough to have nothing out on the dressing table but will do as I use bits up, have 5 new bottles of cleanser and 3 of toner (they were on 3 for 2, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!) Did small pile of ironing too, so getting there. Listed 17 items on ebay - 1 has already had a bid but others nothing, if they don't sell will take to CS.

If I get chance and feel up to it tonight after work must try to make some lunchbox treats, as been so busy with other stuff haven't had time. The mahoosive piece of gammon was excellent, lovely moist and juicy, everyone seemed to enjoy, had HG new potatoes to go with it, and then had veg etc, have plenty of the gammon left so have planned in a pasta meal to use up the LO meat for Weds evening. Tonight's dinner is fish, chips/jacket pot, beans/veg - so nice and easy after working all day.

Was working until Weds last week as normal but seems like I haven't been at work for ages, how weird is that? Think it may be because I've been ultra busy with my major whole house de-clutter, it's going to take ages I know but we hoard stuff - so know we generally have loads of everything, so need to get everything tidied and into manageable amounts.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    morning all

i am sooooo tired :( was up and down all night thinking i was going to be sick :o tried eating some toast at 4am this morning but that made me feel worse. just eating some cereal now in hope it takes the edge of it. so need to get busy today to take my mind of it. shall send hubby to get some travel sickness bands too

the plan for today is shopping for boxer shorts for ds. they need to be aged 1-2yrs as he has a a tiny little bum and nothing stays up on him :rotfl: he's been potty trained since around his birthday but everytime i put pants on him, he wets himself. yesterday he had a pair of shorts on with no pants underneath and he was fine. popped to asda to look at boxer shorts and they only did them from 3-4yrs upwards. any ideas??

other than that lots of baking planned. some brownies i think and i have a few bananas going a bit iffy so will make a banana and sultana loaf. its all being made with normal milk/butter as we're trying to re-introduce dairy to ds which so far is going well and no stomach upsets.

lunch will be rolls left over from the bbq at the weekend. theres ham, cheese, tuna, salad.... hubby can choose whatever he fancies (he's off all week).

we have a bee's nest at the end of the garden. we were clearing a mound of dirt and rubble and upset it. hopefully someone is coming out to see to it within a day or two. we hadnt even noticed bee's in the garden but now we have upset them :o trouble is they have put the whole garden plan on hold as they are where the sheds need to go but we cant put them there til the mound has gone. because the sheds are there we cant sort the patio out...... this is why hubby has the week off work, to sort the garden out.. ah well

anyway i'm rambling and sending myself to sleep let alone whoever will read this :o:rotfl:

have a good day and hugs to those in need

Morning everyone - back from two weeks in wet and wild Scotland! The biggest storm every was wonderful to watch from behind glass and the sea was really boiling up. Actually the shore side of hedges and trees are all shredded and dead whilst the other sides are fine. Most odd!

Anyway - only got back last night and unpacked and then slept so off to work this morning to plough through two weeks worth of stuff.

I haven't read through the past posts yet so hope that everyone is getting along 'fine'.

    Good to be back.

i'm convinced its because pants hold them in like a nappy :o his pants used to be lose on him but he's finally grown into them and started wetting himself nonstop.

ds doesnt say he needs to go, he just takes himself to the potty and goes, poo or wee. trying to encourage him to sit on the toilet but he hate really doesnt like it. if he stands on his stool he's still not high enough to stand and wee :rotfl:

shall have a look in store :D thanks
