the exchanges on the thread today really upset me and I didnt feel equipped to reply - it really puts me off posting when I think that others think we are unfriendly and unwelcoming - i thought we were friendly and certainly dont think we are cliquey! maybe I am being naive.
Toots I think the OP was transferring her grief for her lost baby and was being rather super-sensitive. Understandable in the circumstances, but you have to see it in perspective. It was all a case of bad timing, don't let it upset you, everyone on here is very welcoming to new people.

Now I must get myself a list organised for today or nothing will get done.

I've been away from the thread a day or two - working etc and I've been rather shocked by some of the posts here.

I'd like to stand up, be counted, and say that I don't agree with long-timers, that it is all just good-humoured banter and you need to have a sense of humour to appreciate it.

I've carefully considered what I've said in this post as I don't want to upset anyone, and perhaps we all need to reflect on how other people might feel when they are reading our posts.:)

A very warm welcome to all new contributors, I look forward to hearing all your housework woes!:D:):):):):):)

    Oooh! That was interesting!
I scored 4, which, considering I neglected to clean the laptop screen (well, SOMEONE couldn't have put it on the lists ), is pretty darn good!

I got a 39. Which I was quite pleases with as optician tellos me that I'll soon be needing distance glasses as well as reading glasses. I'm going to try it on DD1 who insists our couches are green (they are navy).

Oh my, I do wish I could type faster - a whole bunch of people post while I'm still trying to get my list to copy over, and then it looks as if I've ignored their news.:(

CY:eek: What's happened with DS this time? Want healing vibes sending? No, don't answer that, I'll send 'em anyway.;)

Piggers *sigh* when things go wrong, they do it in battallions. I'm totally carp with they saying-the-right-thing stuff (Hel's teeth, I can barely string a coherent sentence together at times:cool:) so I'll just hope for tomorrow being a better day for you.:o

I sooo cba, but I really must go and declutter some calories on the WIi Fit. Then get Sidney's dins organised. And our dins. And a shopping list.

    S0d it, I want a very large drink!:D

Thanks for the vibes LW - earlier in the week Ds was moving the drivers seat back in his car - the seat moved but his thumb was caught up in the seat belt........

He then bashed it at work!

It's strapped up and he can't play cricket today.... so he went out last night. He will not be happy because some workmen started drilling in the road at 9am.....;););)

    Morning all,

Well I've done the colour test, and scored 23. I'm quite pleased with that. The area of weakness I had was between the pale pink and mauve ones and some of the blue. Is it sad that I enjoyed doing it? lol

Plan for this morning is to wash my hair, strip the bed and put the linen in the wash, go out for breakfast for a treat (not been for ages), and do the food shop.

Then this avo, I want to catch up on the housework, as my colleague has kindly offered to do the maths plans this week, as he realises that I'm only being paid from 8-4 at school. I survived my first week, but unfortunately have realised that the Deputy Head at this school is a complete cow too, and is unfortunately our phase leader as well. Still, at least I've only got 6.5 weeks left til I'm out of there, and the children seem to be sweet. One of the children commented on my cleaning of the classroom yesterday, and said "You've done a really good job" (he is 7).

The weather seems to be looking reasonable at the moment, but I'm not sure if it will stay this way, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed as the washing mountain is building again since I've been working full time again.

Hugs to all who need or want them,

  • Last HHC slightly curtailed by finding another bird down a chimney, that's 2 in 2 days, at least 2 too many. Can't get this one out so have taken fire front bits off (no idea of proper name), cleared all towels etc out of the way, left window wide open & shut the door. Hopefully it'll find its own way out given peace and time. Guess I'll have a super clean bathroom later as it'll no doubt poop everywhere as it goes.

*adds to master toots list - find roofer to fit caps to our open chimney pots :D

OK back to the ironing mountain - going to go for 45 minutes now and another hour after lunch - anyone else conquering Mount Ironaway?

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

    Morning

I am hopelessly behind with fred and have a busy weekend ahead. Will catch up gradually but hope all are well in the mean time, that all exams have been successful and everyone is well. Please take hugs/congrats/commiserations as appropriate.

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and have heard a lot about Flylady(ing) lol... i would like to start! I've got plenty of hotspots in my house! Lol

I'm going to start in the next week challenge! First things first though.. can someone please tell me what a froggy/frog list is? I'm kind of assuming its a list of things that need to be done but never get done? I've seen some with 100 things and some with 10 things on them, how long are they meant to be?

Sorry if i seem daft lol!! I look forward to a fun week next week!!
    Thanks :D

Brownies frozen to prevent me eating them. Washing up done. Breakfast eaten. Teeth cleaned. Laundry sorted. Just having a rest before putting the laundry on and wandering up to the post office. Plan today is to slowly tidy the house and maybe even Hoover before picking my mum up from the station at 3ish.

Garden is looking very battered after yesterday's hail and rain, and I need to work out why one of the water butts isn't filling properly.
