Did I do something wrong?

Options
I started a thread, I think in 'up your income', but not sure. Basically, I need to interview someone for a psychology course I'm doing and would pay ten pounds. I only need one person.

I read the FAQ and it seemed OK, so I posted. There was some interest. I posted an FAQ I'd written about the research I'm doing. Today I can't find it, the post I mean. And there's no message anywhere about it?

I think the title was 'ten quid for a psychology interview'.

Can someone let me know? If I'm doing something wrong, I'll stop. But ... I need to know what it is!

Sounds like you placed a job advertisement, which would be a definite 'no-no'.

I saw your thread, I think. I don't remember it being clear that only 1 person was needed.

I think for that kind of thing you need to have permission first.

Don't you know anyone in the 'real world' that you could pay £10 to interview?

OK ... I *did* break the rules. Sorry. I did read the FAQ, well, one of them and didn't see that. Now I see the relevant one as pointed out to me; mse doesn't allow people to post for research participants or the board would be flooded.

Fair enough. Well at least I wasn't banned because of it! Thanks for the answers, at least I know now.

It's difficult to pay someone in the 'real world', as I happen to be abroad in a non-English speaking country. I did interview my friend yesterday, and I have one offer from an expatriate on a local message board (don't know if it will pan out though).

Again, sorry for breaking the rules.

Can I just politely mention one thing? Before I first posted, and did check the FAQ (or at least one of them), I was still a bit unsure and _wanted_ to check/ask permission. But it wasn't clear to me how I find/contact the member who moderates each board; in most places (forums) there's a 'moderated by' list near the entry link. If I had have seen that, I would have asked.

    Never mind.
