*Think 25* ? how annoying

I get the whole 'you look under 25 so ill ask you' thing. I don't get the 'you have kids with you' thing though.
O.k so possibly if someone (blatantly over 25) was buying JUST a crate of beer and had a 15 - 17 year old with them you get a bit questiony. But with a 13 year old? Really?
So can no one over 10 go shopping with their parents now?
When I was 14/15 my brother (10 years older than me) used to take me to stock up on beer as I was better at maths than him and could work out the cheapest deal. This was 10 years ago, so it's a good thing they didnt stop us then! LolGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
I'm 34 and refuse to carry ID round with me although I do get asked for it quite regular!!! If they won't serve me,and this is normally supermarkets whilst doing my full weeks shop for our family of 5 then they lose my money lol
The most annoying was the other week I went to get some cigs from the local shop ,the same shop I go in maybe 3 times a week to get them! Just as I got to the till my 15yr old dd walked over and said 'Mum will you get me this please'...it was a bottle of water..yep sure
The lady behind the counter that serves me week in week out says ' are the cigs for you' yep I say...Oh so they aren't for her? Does she have ID?? No she's my daughter ,she's not trying to buy anything and I certainly wouldn't be buying them for her and anyway you serve me all the time.
So with that she says well you can have them this time but in future I suggest you don't bring your daughter in with you or I won't serve you!!!
I actually laughed and said i was sorry that I had brought my daughter out and into her shop and walked out!!!!0 -

I may not be your cup of tea but I am far from a chav. Basing assumptions on what someone has in their shopping trolley? Talk about judging a book by its cover.0 -

I used to get served in the Sainsburys by me when I was 16/17 no problem. Now that I am 27 I get ID'd every time. I like to think it is because I am getting more youthful every day rather than stores clamping down on selling alcohol...! xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I think it is time for a makeover for me then. I must look truly old and hagard as not been asked for id in years :beer:0

I will be 27 in 2 months time and still get ID'd for fags, booze and the lottery! I must look really young because the shock some people have when they see my date of birth.
I also got refused alcohol in ASDA once, despite having my ID, because I was with my teenage cousin.0 -
My favourite time being asked for ID was recently with OH in the local Co-op - he was asked for ID and didn't have any, so they refused to sell him a bottle of wine, and I had to buy it for him (and show my ID - I'm 31).
He's 48 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Don't think I've ever laughed so much:rotfl: :rotfl:

I do remember when I was 17 me and my flatmates (all of them were 20) went to a shop to get food and drink. Only one person got ID'd and it wasn't me :rotfl:.
On the other side after I turned 18 there was a certain shop I would go in on my own or with a friend and always get a security gaurd hang around me when I got to the drink. They wouldn't stop hanging around me until I went through the checkout and show my ID to the cashier .
I've never been asked for ID in a pub or club. I even got served when I was 15.
OP it is stupid. Growing up I always went shopping with my ma. She would buy beers/whiskey/port etc and it was never a problem. The law does not stop families shopping together if you intend on buying alcohol.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
