One phone call to SS may start the ball rolling, but SS must have a dam good reason to have your child on a CPR. If there was nothing to this phone call then you wouldn't be where you are today.

have to agree too, a malicious call was made about me to SS, i went in for one meeting, they asked permission to contact my daughters headteacher and Gp, i agreed and that was as far as it went, SS were happy, case closed.

sorry but i was just being honest, in a previous post a week ago you state you are self employed

Well spotted yet the opening post says she's returning off being sick back to work.

That post also says she owns a property she doesnt live in so that could be sold if she needs some breathing space money wise until her daughter finishes her final year at school.

I haven't read all the replies here but I just wanted to pop in and say that homeschooling families *are* tortured/witch hunted etc on a regular basis, without any real evidence. I am a homeschooling parent and know other families who have had almost the same from SS. I know a family who were hounded by SS because they offered a written statement of what the kids were doing, rather than accept a visit, which is *not* even required by law.

Quite honestly, I would be very surprised if anyone who worked full time was allowed to home school - and quite right too!

Sadly, I suspect that the criteria is not so tightly prescribed. I so agree though.

I home educate my dd so I've heard all the stories you have.

I also know many who do not meet with the EHE officer and have no problems whatsoever.

In this case, there is clearly a third person involved and they are concerned this person still has access to the girl. It apparently began with a media article about the girl, so goodness only knows what has happened altogether!

That is who they were searching for last week, it seems, and they are clearly worried she is at risk while her mother leaves her alone all day.

The OP is giving us a biased version of events, and even that is full of holes.

I really don't think it is fair to drag home education into this.

Apart from anything else, the OP is not home edding by choice and it is only considered a temporary measure.

Yes, there would be nothing to say they could not, and I guess it might work if a couple could share the education between them.

However, I work part time and home ed, and I don't think I could work full time without sacrificing my dd's education. And that's at primary age - I imagine it would be worse for a child who is doing GCSEs.

State schools are rubbish, you'd be better of sitting infront of wikipedia.

    bit of a sweeping statement!
my kids were brought up in one of the most deprived areas of London. Both went to state schools. Both came out with 11 G C S E's at A _ C and 4 A levels, none lower than a C grade.

I know this may sound unhelpful but it is not entirely social services who put a child on child protection register. In a conference there are invites to police, education, health, social services and a decision to place a child under child protection proceedures has to be agreed by more than one agency. In fact the conference cannot go ahead unless other agencies attend.
Perhaps it could be helpful for you to discuss your child with another agency to try and find a way forward if you do not feel you are being heard or given advice correctly by social services.
