A new baby would be able to go into childcare at an appropriate time when maternity leave was finished. This is common place amongst working parents.
So you can afford childcare for the new baby but not a CM for your older daughter?
As for the new school moving all new children back two years - now that simply doesnt make sense - no LEA keeps children back two years - one maybe for SN but even thats rare and parents have to fight for the option.
Given you were paying 50% of a private school fee which would be £1ks then I am sure your joint income would cover childcare or the reduction in salary if one of you stays home.0 -
sorry but i was just being honest, in a previous post a week ago you state you are self employedThis is not really very helpful at all, I have tried to answer every question asked, whether they are relevant to my original question or not, but i'm not really sure how you're expecting me to respond to this.0 -
just read your post and not one thing adds up and neither do any of your previous posts or maybe its me

Nothing ties in, OP hates her job in one post yet wont give it up now. Moves from an area where SS have closed the case and SS in the new area re-open. 50% scholarship yet no new school and no mention of the LEA providing full tutoring as "no" school place.0 -
i have been self-employed.
Child-care for a baby would attract tax credits, not so for a fifteen year old.
I think, seeing as this has veered off topic it's probably time to draw this to a close.

My daughter was on a 50% scholarship at a very good girls school, she left due to being bullied badly.
Surely the answer would have been to tackle the bullying issue, or to find a new school before moving? Can you elaborate on where you are in the UK? I was not aware that any LEA's had absolutely no school places available.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I haven't read all the replies here but I just wanted to pop in and say that homeschooling families *are* tortured/witch hunted etc on a regular basis, without any real evidence. I am a homeschooling parent and know other families who have had almost the same from SS. I know a family who were hounded by SS because they offered a written statement of what the kids were doing, rather than accept a visit, which is *not* even required by law.Paddle no. 12

One phone call to SS may start the ball rolling, but SS must have a dam good reason to have your child on a CPR. If there was nothing to this phone call then you wouldn't be where you are today.I do sincerely hope you never find out how your life can be turned upside down by one malicious, anonymous phone call.*SIGH*

On your salary alone you wouldnt qualify much less so than with your partners added into it so you'll have to pay it anyway.
I cant see that theres an age to tax credits other than being in education in the senior school years anyway.
Like DMG says, LEA's dont have shortages of school places but as nothing adds up i'm not sure any of the info is real.0 -
i agree. my ex made a malicious phone call to SS when we split up, they came round once, spoke to me and saw my daughter and did not return. 2 years later i called the council to see if any one could help with my passport application, the social worker that visited went on to countersign my passport for me.One phone call to SS may start the ball rolling, but SS must have a dam good reason to have your child on a CPR. we all hear of horror stories about SS, but they are so swamped with cases and paperwork, aswell as budget cuts and understaffing i doubt they would conduct the meetings with the OP unless they felt they had good reason to.<insert super cool inspirational sig here>0
