OMG PEOPLE ARE LYING ON AUTOTRADER!
They are putting a really low price and when you read the ad they say 'actual price £...'

    B@stards!

I've been trawling AutoTrader for weeks looking for an old bucket and this REALLY pi55es me off. Can't believe they can't write something to take out any ad containing "real price is" "actual price is" etc.

Why would thay do that!?????? If you are looking at cars for under £500, you don't see 'actual price £4000' in the ad and go ...'oh,ok then, I'll have that'
Timewasting, lying, annoying, idiotic, morons! It's like going to view a 3 bedroom house, and when you get there the estate agent says ' actual number of bedrooms is 1'
    You'd punch them

It's cheaper to list a < £1000 car, and it'll still be seen by people searching for a specific make/model.

Still want them to die in a chemical fire though :T

But if I was searching for a specific model, and I found one that had listed as £85, even though I wanted that specific one, I would still be put off as they are obviously liars and cheats

If I have 5million pounds, I've already got a car that works and I'm happy with. I don't need another one.

But that wasn't my point really. It was more...wouldn't anyone baulk at the price of some cars? Something that is so much more expensive than the sum of its parts?
:T:T you have worked out how a business works, sale price - costs = profits why are you so surprised. They advertise it as a premium product so it can demand a premium price tag. Its not really any different to any clothing brand charging high prices because they have a brand name.

So true. I never understand why people would spend £10k on a brand new fiesta when they could have a 5 year old BMW (well, just anything good and nice, rather than a boring old fiesta) for the same money.
The warranty is big plus for some people and they are prepared to go for something that is adequate but is covered. Of course the BMW is likely to be more fun but some people like to play safe......i'd still go for the BMW though.

The slime who sell these cars much be rubbing their hands together and laughing when they do get someone in. So I wouldn't worry
Your not a hippy are you?? Not all car salesmen/women are slime balls they are just doing a job that supports their families. The customer isn't forced to enter the show room and forced to hand over the cash now are they!!!

Whether someone spends £100 or £1,000,000 million pounds on a car is irrelevant its not your money its theirs, if they can afford it good luck to them. Some peoples priorities are to spend a fortune on clothes, handbags, jewellery, smoking, drinking and others is cars.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Because a brand new Fiesta will not need servicing for 1 year, won't need tyres or brakes for 2-3 years, no MOT etc. When it does need tyres they will be £50 per corner instead of up to £150 on the BMW.

The old adage that if you couldn't afford to buy and run the car when new then you can't really afford to run it secondhand.

THIS IS THE MOST IRRITATING THING. EVER. Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence in the honesty of the dealer as goodgirl says. Same with people who put something like '80' as the mileage instead of '80k', so it comes up when you don't want a car of such a high mileage. You've clearly just filtered out cars over x mileage so why would you want to look?
