Is a car worth 80k?
Comments
-
I'd much rather spend 20k on a secondhand Chevy Suburban. That means I get the biggest car on the road AND no one else has one.
And [STRIKE]save[/STRIKE] spend 60k on fuel over the time you own it.,[STRIKE] or more realistically be able to afford rather than go without...[/STRIKE]
Is what you really mean't.;)0 -
I know not everyone does, but some people do want to impress people with their cars0

Most people want to impress with their cars, the one's who buy crap new cars are just have no taste in cars. In fact these people are worse because they see the age of a car as being more important than it's overall spec.
Those who think practically, they buy depending entirely upon well informed thought and reason.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I dont really get where this thread is coming from and/or going to be honest.
My mums sisters friends all have big houses at the top of a hill overlookiing the firth, they are lovely houses. Most of them have old 8 year old focuses. But to be honest i hate all of them because they invite everyone upto there house to show them how good it is and think they are better than everyone else.
My family has an average house, but have 3 brand new cars - We dont need a bigger house so whats the point. We had the money to buy new cars and wanted to as cars are our pride and joy so why not spend the money. Were clearly not trying to keep up with the jones's as were above them in that sense, we do what we want and how we want.
Do let what other people have control your life.
I was about to buy a new car last week, told my friend, went and viewed it with him, low and behold today i passed him in the same car in a different colour. So now im not buying it. Can you hear people wispering " DID YOU HEAR XXXX GOT THE SAME CAR AS XXXX".
Now im saving for a motorbike as none of my friends want them and i love them to bits.
After all, all these people that think there rich, may have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 credit cards or loans - or may not have. Keep guessing. From England - Live in Edinburgh and work as a bus driver0 -

I love my car and I always said I'd keep it if I won the lottery, I'd just be able to maintain it better. I'd like to have a Copen for fun though, but that's only about 5k0 -

Absolutely. Who cares. I would never suggest anything was wrong or right with what someone else decided to spend their money on. I just feel sick when I think about spending that sort of cash

What about if you have 5 million pounds, like some of these rangerover owners have. What is 80k for them to spend?
Basically the same as somebody only having 30k and spending 1 k on a car. From England - Live in Edinburgh and work as a bus driver0 -

If I have 5million pounds, I've already got a car that works and I'm happy with. I don't need another one.
But that wasn't my point really. It was more...wouldn't anyone baulk at the price of some cars? Something that is so much more expensive than the sum of its parts?0 -
So true. I never understand why people would spend £10k on a brand new fiesta when they could have a 5 year old BMW (well, just anything good and nice, rather than a boring old fiesta) for the same money.Strider590 wrote: »Most*
