Myriad spammers today - like rancid flies around the MSE honeypot.

Several of the threads centre on the activiities of "sweetcollect" run by Carl Knight (formerly known as Carl Buckingham) and the websites of Richard Hooper.

Those threads will hopefully soon be deleted, but it might be useful to add to this ongoing resource thread. We've covered Hooper before, but here are a few items for reference on Knight/Buckingham (who also runs pinkcashback) - some are from MSE:

What you seem to have missed is the fact that Jellyfish have been spamming this forum since May 2007 , they have at least 16 different usernames (I have a note of the particular usernames) and most of them have posted in the same thread lol - is the Board Guide fit for purpose ? how on earth can long standing members of MSE miss that , some of them have even thanked the posts

It questions the quality of long standing MSE members - I don't really want to be a member of the "gullible club" , I am more bothered by that than the spam itself

That's a bit harsh too on MSE'ers isn't it? After all we are all just Joe Public here to find some good freebies on this Forum - not SRO professionals or similar.

Would you provide some evidence rather than "clues" please?

The poster "bendowling" plugs his own site freeapps.co.uk (registered to a Mr Ben Dowling) and later on gets thanked by one of the new variant spammers (by coincidence I would think - they just thank whatever happens to be top of the list at the time.)

BUT - what on earth has that to do with the company you name? That's a pretty serious allegation unless you can back it up is it not?
