    such as?.........

putting a"slant"on things(and thats being kind)in order to panic people into joining, and i speak as someone who was a member in the early days of b&w,for me they should make all of the site pay to view or non of it,and it has to be said that all the "help"they offer is readily avaliable for free from other scources

And if someone posts information on their site, using YOUR email address, and then they facebook you and contact your employer/school/family etc telling them what some person who is not you has done, but the company is saying you did it?

That's why you have to click on a confirmation link sent to your e-mail address to join forums etc, so that people can not join such sites unless the e-mail address is theirs.

I suppose the trouble with work or school is that someone could stay logged in long enough to return the confirmation email.

I really don't like the big companies making massive profits where I believe that there should be public services, but given the liking of both the present and previous governments for them, i.e. all main parties in England, I suppose we're stuck with them.

I'm also a cynic when it comes to information held by others. I have seen some appalling untruths written about me on official records and not being rich, famous and powerful, I really can't do much, if anything, about it. So the more that these big companies gather information and shunt it from one to another, the less happy I am, but what can we do? It's a done deal.

I don't think they try to hide anything. They're not a charity and they don't pretend to be. They sell a product which you can buy or not buy, just like any other product, and they market it, just like any other product.

[FONT=verdana, arial]Claimants are assured that their information will be anonymised before it is passed on to the DWP and the original records destroyed once the trials are complete. They are also told, however, that they have no right to see what has been written about them. This may well be in breach of the Data Protection Act and does raise questions about what evidence exactly is being collected and why it should never be seen by the person it is about.

Claimants should also be aware that from a benefits legislation perspective, payment in vouchers is exactly the same as payment in cash. Any payment should be declared and is likely to be treated as income for benefits purposes. Claimants who are receiving benefits as incapable of work should be particularly cautious about taking part in such trials.

but it is the case that their weekly emails are used purely to scare people into joining/re-joining,some of the outlandish claims they make have to be seen to be believed(or not)
I really would caution anyone thinking of spending £20 for info freely avaliable from a multitude of scorces to think again

I admit i joined B&W but that was because my esa and dla were both up for renewal and was paranoid and panicking. and trying oi find the same info for free via google was making me worse because all i kept finding was more scare stories and bad things soit was easier to see it all in one place. i do think they scaremonger though

What outlandish claims are you referring to?

As for the information being freely available, it is, but only if

    a) you have vast amounts of time
    b) are prepared to do your own freedom of information requests
    c) do lots of research and know where to look, and what your looking for.

Quite a lot of professionals subscribe to B&W, its a legit registered company, and so far, I just see people slating it 'vaguely' without one ounce of fact or evidence to back it up?

Do people have a hidden agenda against a site that exposes the truth?
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that
