Wireless printer, scanner (+fax) with cheap ink?

The 425W is wireless but has expensive ink at the moment, and will probably stay that way now.
The 415 is not wireless but at £70 plus delivery you may as well go for the 515W

Sorry - I meant the 415.
Ok - ordering the 515W. I suspect the 515W will become difficult to get rather than coming back in stock at the Epson store (PC world, Currys and Dixons have no stock) Many thanks again.0 -
I have signed up to be informed if Epson do get any back in stock - just in case though!0

I use Pro Jet inks in mine from either UKDVDR or bigpockets, expect to pay £4:25 a set plus delivery.
There is a company which sells cartridges with 19ml of ink, so basically a third cheaper, plus free delivery, though haven't used them

The Epson Stylus SX515w Wireless All In One Printer is reduced to £59.99 in Argos at the moment and there are lots of other reductions on printers.
Sorry the link didn't seem to work but it's item no: 670/50000 -

I use a 515w with compatible cartridges but it constantly (every few days) comes up that it can't recognise the cartridges and I have to replace them.
I thought it was just as they were empty but it's happening whilst the cartridges are half full now. 2 different suppliers (an eBay seller for less than £1 each and cartridge world - £6.50).
Anyone have any suggestions of what I may be doing wrongly?0 -
Do you switch the printer off each day? If so, try leaving it on and letting it go to standby.
If it stops recognising a cartridge, remove the cartridge, put the same cartridge back in straight away.
Or, remove the unrecognised cartridge, turn the printer off for a minute, turn it on, wait for it to ask for the cartridge, put the same one in
Or, turn the printer off, remove the power lead from the printer for a couple of minutes, replace the lead, switch the printer on
If those do not help, try Pro Jet inks from bigpockets or UKDVDR

How old is this printer? My HP F2100 PSC has the same problem but it's 3 yrs old. What does anyone else think? Dead machine or duff cartridges?0

Do you have to attach the chip to the cartridges or are they already on?
