Morning all!
Glad your first day in new wombling job went well Pippi :j, sorry I didn't manage to get on here and wish you good luck beforehand.
Had my hernia op on Tuesday, and it went well, though I am in much more pain than I thought I would be, it has knocked me for six atm. I was in and out on the same day, but they sent me home with codeine to take in addition to the paracetamol I take regularly. I can't take any NSAIDs (Inbuprofen etc) as they give me ulcers. Going to have to resort to the TENS machine today (battery charging as I speak), as my back has decided that it can't cope. All this inactivity is not doing it any good at all.
Sorry for the moan, feeling a bit sorry for myself today. On my own this morning, had both DH and DS2 home yesterday to look after me. At least I can get up and down the stairs on my own now...was a bit tricky initially.
Need to head upstairs again to get washed and dressed, can't have a shower until next Tuesday, so top'n'tail only!! Need to work out how to wash my hair without having too kneel down by the side of the bath (difficult to get down and impssible to get up!!). Wouldn't mind so much for few days, but it is my birthday next Monday, and if I am up to the trip, we are heading up to Warwick to see DS1 and GF on Sunday for a nice birthday meal out. Need to look half decent for that!!
I might get some more knitting done today, about the only thing I can do atm, though managed a bit of hand-sewing yesterday too. Wondering if I will be up to do the christmas fairs next weekend, we'll see how things go.
Have a wonderful day everyone xx

Thanks Pippi, not able to do very much atm. Still wondering if I am up to doing the couple of Christmas fairs I am due to do next weekend (25th and 27th November).
I have deliberately left simple knitting (scarves mainly) for me to do in the next few days...I knitted 1 and a bit while waiting to have the op on Tuesday, and could have sold them both to the nurses!! Not allowed to drive for at least 2 weeks, so DH will have to set up the tables at the fairs as well as taking me there. He isn't keen for me to do the one on the Friday evening...it is outside from 5 to 9pm! Might give them a ring to see if I can get a table inside, or I will have to cancel that one.
Oh by the way, should be able to send you some Lucifer soon. Took them up at the weekend and loosened the soil off them, meant to send them on Monday, but forgot...hope they haven't been munched by any rodents!!! I can just send them in a jiffy bag can't I? Haven't been down the garden yet...not been out ince I got back on Tuesday evening. Been bad enought getting around the house atm.
Think I need to lie down, feeling a bit woozy now...see you all later xx.

Oh Keiss, you poor thing! I'm off for a flu jab this afternoon, and definitely going to wash my hair before that, I'm dreadful at the swelling after even an ordinary injection - but you had an **op**! Not surprised you're feeling sorry for yourself, and I hope your lie-down stopped you feeling woozy - as Pippi, huge gentle hugs, feel better soon.
Pippi, all that income! Excellent! If I was you, I think I'd be doing half and half. I know you're squeaking, but just for security's sake, I'd get the credit card paid down. Penguin chops can wait2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Keiss - Sending you very gentle healing hugs. Just this once how about a mobile hairdresser or even get OH to help you wash it? You may be surprised at how quickly you feel better, maybe make a decision about the Christmas Fairs after the weekend? Could you bribe DS2 to help you maybe?
KC - I only have one door downstairs, between the lounge and the stairs, the rest is open plan. Although I am not too house proud I would be gutted if Rodders chewed my sofa's so, rather than that he is in a crate at bedtime or if I am out. There seems to be mixed thoughts on crate training but my sister did it successfully with her dog and Rodders has taken to it but not everyone does it. I have bought a huge crate so he has room for his bed and bowls and can move around if he wants too. He also has a crate in the car to keep him safe - my sister had an accident years ago and her dog got loose and ran off.
Pippi - I 2nd KC, go for half and half but leave Penguinchops until last. If you have any spare money at the end of the month you can always pay it over to the cc's to pay it off quicker. But after a year of living very frugally I think a little slack is well deserved.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Thanks Maty! I can see using a *big* crate like that - and it does sound big
and in a car, frankly, it sounds essential.
