Ooh, a parcel KC, how exciting! :T :T

Don't get caught up feeling as if you've done nothing Pippi - that's a hangover from PhD land, and I bet it's not true! ;):D Hope you get a bit of wintry gardening in today xxx
  • Morning.. ooh I had a lovely stir fry last night with some very exotic vietnamese coriander in it - really tasty! Mr S says thanks, he really likes it too :)

    Hope it's a good day today :)

  • Sometimes it is like pushing treacle up hill. Don't get down Pippi. :A Its all change and it is adjusting to it. Its about having more time here and less time there. (and managing the time you do have, says she on her second cup of coffee and loittering around on peoples blogs:o)

I work from home it can be really good sometimes and a killer others. I had a really productive week and have now ground to a halt............

But I have decided that it's fine. DH is on a 7 day shift:eek:, so I can work tomorrow morning, and then I have a lottery bid to put together and I have promised this to someone by Monday morning (idiot:D)

We have quite nice weather here today, wish I could send you some so you could get out gardening. Working outside always lifts my spirits

There will be much tweaking of budgets here, our car finally died yesterday, probably just enough life in her to get to scrappy

We have just been though the UCAS application/personal statement thing. Had the greatest of fun getting it on one page without "taking anything out":rotfl:Did it in the end

Teenage finances are a nightmare. DD is doing an access to social work this year, she is living with bf and looking for work to support herself (she isn't the best one of my two of saving money, but she does use ebay/preloved etc for her bargains) DS doesn't really spend a lot, he doesn't get EMA, but has DLA due to his ASD, and he funds extra tutoring away from college with that (his choice not mine, so I am very proud of him:)) He is saving up for a mac book, which will help him greatly with the course he is doing.

Well I am off to soak the fruit for the Christmas cake. Will definitely avoid soaking myself otherwise the day will definitely become less productive.

Love the idea of Bogof and Barn cats, all we have is fence and garage cats as they like to torment the dogs

:hello: to Keiss hope you are feeling better
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly

:rotfl: :rotfl: at soaking yourself as much as the christmas cake :D

I work from home a lot too - and a very wise Mr Daffs once said to me, as I was busy bemoaning the fact that I'd done nothing for an hour, that I was measuring my productivity in too-short timescales. I was thinking 'I've done nothing in the last hour!' whereas actually I'd had a really productive DAY overall (which involved bursts of productivity that I couldn't have kept up for the entire day without bits of languishing and resting), or I'd say 'I've done nothing today!' and actually I'd had a really productive WEEK. Don't be too hard on yourself! :)

Morning all, still feeling a bit bleurgh this morning, though the TENS machine is definitely helping the back. Talked to the doc on the phone, and he has prescribed more painkillers. I run out of the hospital ones tomorrow morning. Thought it would be a good idea to get more, as I am still not sleeping through the night. :(

Did manage to get something done this morning...I ordered a new sewing machine!! :j I am using all our Mr T vouchers in the exchange offer, so doubling up the total available. This means a new fancy (not overly fancy, yet much better than the one I have :o) machine is costing me £35 instead of £355!!!:eek:

I was planning to use the vouchers to pay for some food, but DH said to see if there was anything we could get in the voucher exchange offer for ourselves or as pressies. So I am getting this machine for my birthday :j:j:j:j. It should arrive on Saturday...getting so excited!!

I was going to hold out for a few more months to work what kind of machine to get, but this one has pretty much all I would want to have....and a fantastic deal too!!

DH is a wonderful man, I really don't deserve him. Looking forwards to having fun with my new machine this weekend...I can't wait!

Must go and have a lie down, all this excitement is making me feel giddy! :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx

    Gentle virtual hugs Keiss.

    Hooray for lovely parcels :T

Pippi - meant to ask you.. I found some leftover onion sets from this year in my seed collection, some have disintegrated but the rest have started to sprout. .is it worth sticking them in the ground to try and overwinter?
