Morning Pippi and  to everyone else.

We're just grand, thanks for asking. So good to hear you are planting seeds. Loving all the PT talk too and the 'virtual' planting and planning. I did laugh out loud when I read that Mr Flowers had walked in on you 'in the act' on the sofa (that was Pippi innocently reading the wholesale plant catalogue for anyone who's not read the blog post yet, no smut on here please ;)). I will be getting my green fingered 'kicks' vicariously now, through your polytunnel adventures, we've just decided to give up our allotment. It's the right decision in the long term, but a bit sad none the less, as there were lots of good aspects to it, and we did harvest alot of produce - and I read the fact about the £1:£9 ratio after we'd made the decision :( Ah well, onwards and upwards, it is all part of the 'plan' (plan? plan? we've a plan?) and the future will hold a home with a garden large enough to have veggies in abundance right outside the backdoor.

I've just seen yesterday's post too - that bunch of flowers is superb - no wonder the cafe are delighted (and I expect Aunty C is too!). When it's not playing up, technology is a wonderful thing isn't it?

Well, I hope you manage to do lots today, I don't know what the weather is with you - it's slightly 'breezy' here (on the isle of flowers scale - blooming windy to everyone else!).

    Have a great day.

    Greying

ETA - LT perhaps it was a 'poker face' bluffing exercise, in order to not seem to love the place and affect negotiations. Hoping for the best outcome for you anyway.

  • Morning!

LT you never know, maybe that's just her default expression! I know I look like this, often when I'm just thinking things over people mistakenly think I am really shocked or disapproving - used to be a bad thing but it has its advantages as sometimes people feel the need to offer me a better deal!

Oh dear Trog, I did laugh at your washing! :rotfl: sorry! Yes, perhaps you could cut off the corner, or cut it into pillow cases or something?

LT - my mum's default expression is like a wet weekend, and she's pretty much always happy, so you never know! :)

GP - I gave up my allotment a few years back, absolutely the right thing for me. Once it had got to being a 'should do' rather than a 'want to' it went, especially since I was driving to it rather than walking, which wasn't the idea!

    Morning Pippi! :T

LT people always tell you not to look too enthused when viewing a house. it's tactics. if you can look a bit disinterested and list EVERY issue with the house "oh I couldn't possibly live with THAT carpet. it needs complete new flooring" etc then you are in a better position to negotiate as it knocks the seller's confidence.

Bah to slow internet connection Pippi. I am keeping well thanks. DD's birthday tomorrow so been a bit busy over the weekend with her party. Got a meeting in church tonight which will lead to a late night (some of them can't stop talking once you get them going *rolls eyes*) although I do have half a mind to tell people there tonight to stop ringing me up at gone 9.30pm asking me to do stuff. "No I am in bed and was almost asleep".

anyway need to have a quick catch up then do some tidying for my mum who's coming to babysit tonight so she doesn't see what a mess we live in

Lots of progress oop North. :T:T:T

We came over the moors from Derbyshire today and the cloud was down really low on the hills, tumbling and rolling down the valley sides.

It was blowing a gale and the little water courses were filled with a creamy foam as water rushed down to the reservoirs.

Then, half way up a hill on the only flat ledge I could see, was a poly-tunnel.

    I thought of you. :j:j

It was in the Woodhead Pass. Then we climbed Holme Moss and down the other side to Holmfirth - home of Last of the Summer Wine. Then 14 miles through boring urban sprawl to home.

Having survived on the outskirts of London for many years, I really count my blessings that I live in such a lovely area now.

PS : The flowers are lovely, as is the sentiment.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

thanks everyone, i spoke to the estate agent and she used the phrase that her face looked like she'd been kicked in the back side so i'm guessing this is the usual face. They didn't get hold of her today so i'm hoping to hear something tomorrow. I'm not holding out much hope so whatever happens for the good will be a bonus

GP we gave up our allotment this year, we'd not had it long but it was too much for us and we had reached the stage where we felt guilty all the time, guilty for not going up there, for not getting enough done, for doing anything around the house as we should be up there, for tidying our home garden because we should have been up there. The feeling of freedom when we handed it back was wonderful.
  • Apologies, carp Internet.

Lt don't feel guilty, you knew it was too much! And, you free'd yourself from it. :) hope the smacked in the face by a busy lady stands in a wind direction place.

Trog oh dear re washing! we can't get anything out here, house like a laundry.

Tricia sounds like u had fun! I don't mind urban sprawl, I just look in the gardens :) yay to hill dwelling polytunelists :) glad you liked my flowers :)
