Hope the weather calms down soon Pippi!
Giggling at the peedie impressions.. :rotfl: (my cat was very unimpressed last night - she was lying on the living room floor and I decided to stretch out next to her.. what a look she gave me.. "this is MY floor, I do the stretching out, how dare you" :rotfl:)Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
If it helps Pippi, it is grey and drab here (not windy but that will come I am sure).
Butti, you need to save your pictures to somewhere like Flickr or such then copy the url, click on the square above that looks like a postcard of a mountain and paste the url into the box that pops up.
Loving the impersonations of Peedie. Coco (my african grey) still does an impersonation of my Cocker Spaniel Benson (who I lost three years ago). He used to squeak like Sooty and Coco does it perfectly. He also meows like the cat that sits in my garden tormenting Moo.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. I love all these animals, hope that once I've got my leg a bit more sorted, I'll get us a cat, as I miss having a pet and DD's never had one (cue violins, she's so deprived
)
It's a really bad move to bring my purse to the office - today I have bought some sparkly water, CHOCOLATE !!! (grrr, but it was reduced so does that make it any better? I know, not really.....), a YS piece of beef for Sunday's lunch with friends (the man in Waitro$e was very nice and confirmed that it would be the right kind of thing to do a pot roast with as that's the only way I know to cook beef, lol) and some pastry cutters!!! Did I need the last item or the sparkly water/chocolate? No, not at all.....
I can sort of say that the sparkly water is a good way of making sure I drink 2l water a day, the chocolate - no excuse and the pastry cutters, errm, they were very reduced and I might now make more little tarts and quiches, anything to try and persuade DD to extend her packed lunch repertoire......
Anyway, total updated and I shall have to have a very healthy dinner to make up for the choccy.0 -
hey chaps back home after a day of prep for the class - no idea why it takes me so long - but it does - writing material, and working out how to present it - surely somewhere along all this time some one might have taught me how to do that?
KK not too bad on the spends there - chocolate is one of your 5 a day don't you know - so don't be hard on yourself. Excellent butcher advice there
MM - hope you get a photo uploaded soonnice to see you and woo hoo to the new arrival
MrsM parrot sounds like a hoot and thank you all this talk of 'I'm too hot' is a bit strange here - I don't think its been over 15 the whole summer?
Red cats can stop you dead with a glance can't they?
Enjoying a bit of vitrual cake and the shortbread conesuieiririri (no idea how to spell that) gave my first attempt a 9/10needed baked a bit more he thought but nice texture and melt - bet he says that to all the girls.
Eggs delivered at work (£1) - technically paid for 1/2 hour teaching prep work and working out what to be charging for the IV paperwork etc (we've paperwork to source and sort out for two new units at me old/work there now occassionally work...............

Way cuter than a cute thing! Fantastic!
Pippi, teaching takes ages to prep for - the secret is to teach the same course over and over, cos then you only need to refresh it, not start from scratch2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I am with KC. When I prep for presentations it takes ages. Now I have a standard prep and then just research for individual group it is easier. Even better when the group I am delivering too is very similar to a previous group. Less workSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Aint he cute?
KC and Mrs M I hadn't thought of that - developing and teaching - might get better then eventually?
I am having a real life crisis about what I want to do, I really don't think I like teaching (but I like helping folk to learn about it) but maybe its becauve despite how much I'm preparing (and I'm familiar with the stuff) I've never developed and taught before. I'm not an up on stage kinda person - trying to make things informal is a bit hard too.
Hmm, I meant that to be less dramatic than it sounded!cuter than a cute thing that puppy

It does get easier honest. As for the being up on stage and trying to be informal, the only tip I could give is just to be yourself. Dont think that you are "teaching" remember that you are helping people to learn. One of the first things you need to do when teaching is make a connection and find some common ground. You already have the common ground because they wouldnt be there if they didn't love plants. As for the making a connection, you just be you and it will come easily. For me I love to see that "penny drop" or the light going on. I am so excited by that so I get more from it than they do sometimes. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons.
