Ok, if you stop thinking about the safe place you will find it by accident. That or say "st anthony please find my X" and turn a safety pin in a cushion three times. Well, it always worked for my Mum :)
Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher
  • Well it worked - I thought OK where on earth can't it be room by room - third room I checked I remembered the box of paperwork safe under the bed - bingo.

    Phew

    Hope you're all good

Not caught up yet - Uni - pad's well I get money weekly/four weekly and monthly - so I juggle my normal expenses (non dd) on my cc. Therefore apart from money in bank for dds I put all (almost all, most) of my money I get in goes to each card on a daily/weekly basis. I figure, the money I need for dd's stays in the bank, everything else generally is done online/on card. I don't use normal money if I can help it - I figure its more effective if I make all my online money work online. I rarely take any money out of the bank, hen money comes in weekly - which can be £2-5 a week in cash - that goes to any 'money' we need. They both get an allowance of £50 a month (most of their child benefit) they have to buy EVERYTHING from that - clothes/toiletries/books/lunch/bus/phone etc everything. DD gets her allowance via online bank, ds tends to spend his before he's got it, generally online, so he normally gets his allowance via my cc.

I figure if I put all my spare cash to my cc's (and use them for food/petrol), I can't fitter any money on unneeded stuff and eventually I'll catch up with myself, when I had a wage every month I cleared both cards. Once I've a regular monthy wage again thats my goal, all spend on cards, pay off every month.

    :) I hope that helps?

Today flowery update in the land of the flowery delight.

Made up a bunch of homegrown flowers and took to a local cafe (!) we're in an experimental stage with it, part of my future patchwork income might be 'local' carbon footprint free flowers. (YAY) I did a first bunch last week, which they loved, very strange ot walk into the cafe and see my flowers on the tables. We're trying a bunch a week, experimenting and hoping we'll both learn what works/what doesn't. No money involved, they've offered I've declined (before I get gently told off) its very experimental, I'm learning alot from it and if it works the promotional angle from that particular establishment would be huge. We'll see what works and if it might contribute to future income from markets etc - having flowers on a lovely cafe in the main town is brilliant. I just hopeI can be inventive enough to keep it up.

Went shopping for reduced stuff (got turkey and chicken, but full price cheese and ham) and reduced fruit/veg etc so my reduced sooper doooper veg box this week contains.........

    Brocolli
    Plums
    Grapes
    Apples
    Tatties
    Cauli
    Cabbage

Have a fair bit left from last week, so we'll be OK. Looked at plot at work, have courgettes, carrots, parsnips, leeks etc ready to pull when needed - at home we've lettuce, cabbage and leeks too. Don't think we'll be pulling much this week, we've tonnes veg already.

    storecupboard challenge day um, 19?
brekkie - scrambled egg in a tortilla, hot chocy - banana and apple in the car to work
Lunch - fish and chips, OH treated in town we sat on a bench at the pier in the sunshine and scoffed
Tea - guacamole (reduced) panini bread (reduced) and grapes/pineapple

Not a bad shop - went to all three supermarkets, got alot of fresh stuff and also a bit cupboard stuff (choc spread etc). Total came to £23 could have done without it, but was in town and wanted to have a peek at reduced grub.

Tidied up polytunnel up at work (flowers mainly) and did a bit research for my old HOD about a local plant he's interested in. Looked at evening class stuff, will do more of that tomorrow, first class (alone, eek!) on Wednesday - I've 10 booked, I'm sure they'll be lovely.

Had a chat with guru guy and got £20 for fishboxes he wanted to buy from me. He needs a hand with powerpoint and photos for his class which I'll help him with, he's offered to pay but I've declined, we do alot for each other and he's helped with tunnel loads already and will do in the future :), and also he's told me about a highland company for the cover for mine, so I phoned them today, yay they're giving me a quote :)

Good things happenning in frugal flowery land. Not alot financial, but lots of good investment in future flowery goodness.

    LT I hope you're OK lassie (())

Red thank you, the safe place is now located

lovely flowery stuff going on! Well done you! (although you will have to start saying yes when people offer you money you know, that's twice you've refused it in one post! :rotfl:) xx

You're not supposed to notice that. :o

The guru guy does tonnes for me, oodles, I feel its ying and yang and without his kindness I'd not have squatting rights and flowers in a tunnel I don't own.

The other one, well I did refuse that, I want to get it right and build up a good relationship there. *you* know the cafe, they do alot of local food, I'll be growing alot of local fruit/veg - I feel like this is a real good will toe in the door providing flowers for her, I can really build on it for other things.

And, I'm clearly not going to be very rich in money, but I do a nice line flowerly goodwill :) from little kindesses great things come

One woman and her wheelbarrow and all that :T at least it behaves better than my blinking mower:rotfl:

Glad you've had a good day Pippi....all those flowers sound lovely!

I do understand about you refusing the money, but if they want to give you some, then perhaps you can accept less that they offer? This way you get something for your work and they feel you are giving them a good deal! So if they offer again, accept some of it at least! :)

Glad you found your paperwork...it's amazing how "safe places" hide themselves in the most unlilkely places!! :rotfl:

Had a nice day today, getting hair cut, then a few hours at my quilting beginners group, such a lovely mix of women. I made a flower...a cornus. Not very good as I used too big a square of material, but will have a go again with something smaller. It's folded japenese work, sort of origami with material and I may be hooked!
There was a lovely dogs tooth violet, which with a bit of tweaking could be made to look like a cyclamen...might have to have a go sometime. :D

  • Keiss I'm glad you had a great afternoon, haircuts and flowers from fabric brilliant. Did you get he bag sorted?

Money, I know I'll get there. When I do charge, eventually, I'll make sure its right. Promise. I like to think of this footwork as taster, once they are hooked, I'll make sure I give good value and won't undervalue myself or produce :)

    Nice to see you :)
