Dog Owners

In general? They need to be caught in the act by the wardens, which I'm pleased to say is happening more frequently now here. For me, I could look back through the footage and see who was with the dog and I would have no qualms in returning the mess to the owner. As I said though, since the camera and sign (printed sign I add) went up I have had no problems whatsoever.0 -

Well I doubt that'll happen around here - I've never seen one!
Really don't know why I bother picking up in the first place if the chances of being caught are that slim.0 -

If a home owner reports a persistent problem the wardens will be out, its a nice bit of moneymaking for the council.
As for filming, the CCTV Code of practice states:
" The use of cameras for limited household purposes is exempt from the DPA. This applies where an individual uses CCTV to protect their home from burglary, even if the camera overlooks the street or other areas near their home."
You are well within your rights to film the pavement outside your home. Think about how many householders have CCTV, and of those, how many would happily submit the images to the Police if you did repeatedly fail to pick it up.
You do it because its called being a responsible owner. You do it because you wouldn't like it trodden through your house so why should you expect someone else should? You do it because you really don't want to have a child loosing its eyesight on your conscience.0 -

So putting a camera up to film every person walking past your house, walking a dog or not, picking up their dog's poo or not, is now classed as protecting your home from burglary? I fail to see the link.
If a person doesn't pick up dog poo, they are clearly then going to burgal your house while they dog is finishing off their business.0 -

So you put up a camera to protect your home from burglary and just happen to film some dirty owner. Where's the problem? There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I'm also watching the car on the drive.
Big brother. George Orwell warned us.
It's the age of security cameras.
Read somewhere once about how many times each of us is recorded on a security camera in a given day. Pretty sure it was over a hundred times!!0 -

Bummer!
And if you spend half an hour on a busy high street you'll probably be clocked over one thousand times by real people! :eek:There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Not that I'd ever do that. Our local council recently brought in one of those dog control orders because we have such a problem with dog mess. It hasn't made the blindest bit of difference since the owners who let their dogs foul aren't the type to take any notice of a few signs.
Ah but it creates a nice job for someone0
