I must say it's awful when you're out walking the dog and the following happens. It's done its poo, you scoop it up, bag it, and wander on to find a bin. But then just as you turn the corner, you bump into someone you know. It's that dishy blond chick you've been wanting to shag for ages. What do you do with the bloody poo bag? You don't want her to see it. It's either throw it in the hedge or be responsible and hide it on your person. I tend to slip it discreetly into my pocket (just for reasons of decency) while I pursue the chick with relentless low-grade chat-up lines. But in the thrill of the chase, it's all too easy to forget about that squidgy parcel in your pocket, only to remember it later when you sit on it and burst its contents. Such are the pitfalls of dog ownership.

I don't understand why they don't think they should just take it home with them.

Not the most pleasant thing to be gaily swinging as you go on your way is it?

Probably not - but one of the issues of owning a dog, I guess. Even less pleasant for a non-dog-owner to find it hanging from their tree on a daily basis.

My BF's family have a dog, whenever I take her out I always take the poo along with me until I find a bin. Can't imagine leaving it dangling in someone else's hedge!!

Mind you... I took the dog back to the house after a day out last week, and discovered several large poos at the front door. They certainly didn't belong to Bella (she's only a pup), which means somebody let their dog go up the steps and poo right outside someone else's front door. I'm just glad it wasn't dark or I would have stepped right in it!

Offer it to her as a present.

    She'll never forget you.

No, you're right - and it's not something I would do.

I wouldn't carry it all the way home or have it in the car either though - it goes in the nearest bin.

Would you take it home if you didn't pass a bin though?

I think instead of fines, owners that don't pick up after their dogs, should have them taken away from them!

The dog deserves a better owner!

Why are cats seen as freespirits and a free to do their business wherever they choose? Usually in peoples gardens, in their vegetable patches, etc.

One rule for cats, another dogs.

    Discrimination against dogs IMO. :D
