You've left out some rather important details there...
1) Did you have a flight in 2014 that was delayed?
2) How would Tripsta know about it?
If you had a delayed flight and Tripsta have a valid reason for knowing about it (i.e. you booked through them) then it probably isn't a scam. Though whether it's the best option for you to take is another matter.0 -

Sorry!
Yes i did book through tripsta
And yes the flight was delayed by 3.15 hours
I didnt even know you can get compensation for delayed flights, so i was a little surprised about the email. What would be the best option for me to take?0 -

Do you remember why the flight was delayed? And which airline was it? You're only entitled if the delay was their fault - i.e. not because of bad weather, strikes etc.
Assuming your claim is valid, the first step is always to make a claim with the airline directly.
If they refuse you then have the option of suing them yourself in the small claims court (relatively easy as far as courts go, but still a hassle) or use a no-win-no-fee solicitor. Presumably Tripsta have a deal where they get a commission for introducing you to one?0 -
I am looking into making a complaint to the watchdog that regulates Tripsta, but this is not part of the ABTA: Association of British Travel Agents.
It is ridiculous that they are still allowed to charge the fuel surcharge and not refund it when the booking is cancelled.
Does anybody knows who regulates them?
Thank you0 -

Indeed, but that is the airline rather than the agent.0 -
I used them a few weeks ago, very bad service. I should have looked up their online reviews. Beware when booking from a mobile device and through Skyscanner, they come up as the cheapest option, but as with many things, pay peanuts and you'll get monkeys.0

A friend of mine is having all sorts of problems with this company over a cancelled flight, they say a refund has been paid to his credit card it has not. I have tried contacting them in the UK on his behalf and the phone line is dead. He is pursuing a claim via his credit card. Current reviews on this company on trust pilot are appalling beware!0

Tripsta has stopped trading at the end of June so the credit card is the place to go. (at least nobody else will be able to book with them)0 -
But there are still lots of these 3rd party flight sellers operating in the same way as Tripsta did to fool the unwary into parting with their money.Tripsta has stopped trading at the end of June so the credit card is the place to go. (at least nobody else will be able to book with them)
The Air Travel board on Tripadvisor is littered with 'warnings' not to do business with eDreams, Travelgenio, Budgetair, Cheapoair, Kiwi et al.
But the majority of people seem to do zero research into these companies, are sucked in by cheap prices (which aren't live) and then post warnings not to use them.
Along comes the next [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] customer...0
