Right, well I have a gorgeous smelling beef stew in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner. DH likes dumplings with his stew, so my question is can I put them in the slow cooker? If so how long should they go in for? (Slow cooker is on low). If not can I cook them in the oven seperately?
Thanks for help.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

Hi
I've got a stew bubbling away in the SC - can I add dumplings? Not had them in years and thought it might be a good idea.
When would I add them and has anyone got a best ever recipe?
TIAI have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

You can add dumplings (we had them earlier in the week and they were yummy :j ). I use this recipe.

I add my dumplings about 45 mins to an hour before I want to dish up - I use half suet to flour, dash of water and whatever flavourings take your fancy, normally chilli flakes and some mixed herbs, or mix in a handful of stuffing mix for something a bit different.
We love dumplings here so any excuse for a stew :j"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I love dumplings, usually add them half hour before I want to dish up... only thing is in the SC they don't go crispy!0
