Why would they come to your door without the parcel? You make no sense at all.

Clearly you dont make much sense and seem to have some blind faith in the post office (or whatever they are called Custardy before you say it :))

Many posties I know dont bother with the special delivery items until it suits them so dont even take them on their rounds!

    Now now shellsuit.
Don't accuse Custardy of always sticking up for Royal mail & their employees.
He just gets upset and denies it, even though posts such as the ones on here easily prove the opposite.

erm.. because they have clearly written the wrong time for a reason. More often that not it is because they can't be bothered delivering the special delivery ones as it means knocking, getting a signature etc. as opposed to posting then getting the hell out of there (I know many posties who are very workshy, lazy gits so even though we appreciate you were not like this, most sadly are)

    what would the reason be?
    the poster wasnt home
    so whats the difference
if they wrote it as 30 minutes after they arrived, what would the difference be if the OP still wasnt home?

So it looks like they were there on time and tried to deliver whereas they will wait until after the latest delivery time then push the red ticket through to the door then run away It sounds bizarre but posties generally are.

Incidentally you cant pretend you never experienced these issues when working in that industry, it is full of them. Sure, every industry has numerous issues with lazy staff but as the post office is in the public sector (and the one mentioned in this thread) then this will be the one under the spotlight. I'm unsure what someone who no longer works for the company has to comment on and protect as I have never heard you say one negative thing about them yet clearly you are in the minority. You can sure as hell bet they wont be missing you one iota so loyalty for a company like that is bizarre.

    I haven't worn a watch since I was a kid.I'm sure I'm not alone.

Why would they come to your door without the parcel? You make no sense at all.

I don't work for them btw.

For them to be a liar, they'd have to be knowingly saying something untrue. For them to be mistaken/wrong, they'd have to not know the exact time.

If they have to fill in the time on cards, then it doesn't take a genius for them to have a watch or access to a clock does it?

Why would they come to my door without the parcel? :rotfl::rotfl:

It's happened before to me, and to people on here plenty of times.

Maybe because they can't be bothered carrying around the parcels with them and would rather us go and collect them.

All I asked was, "why lie?", that's it!

Why do some of them lie on the cards about what time they have called when it's a load of nonsense?

It's you who chose to make a meal out of it.

the card was timed at 1130 - so it was before 1300?

I would like to say that I'm disgruntled with your accusation of most postal workers being lazy johnnyboyrebel.

It is true that there are a minority of folk who do not do the job correctly, but to say most is incredibly unfair.

If I have packets for customers I will knock the door, several times, stand and fill out the red card, knock the door before putting it thourgh. I stand and endorse the packet with the time, date, reason for not delivering etc and then move on.

The number of customers who then complain that I did not try to deliver or even have the item on me is unbelievable.

Trust me, Special Delivery items are not left in the office because people can't be bothered with them. If you can't deliver it, you have to take it back to your office and get is scanned back in, or pass it to a Post Office and get them to scan an officially take ownership of it. The nonsense you spout about folk leaving them is just that - nonsense.

Show me proof that it happens.
