Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday May 31st. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station, I've been to Tesco & done the 1st shop ready for my Handfasting feast, they let me pay in £1 coins too.
DD1 is coming over today so her foster daughter can have some knitting lessons. DD2 is also coming over later, I've bought her a few bits from Tesco as her hubby is on a low wage & she is on maternity leave.
The outlaws visited yesterday for a couple of hours, just for tea & cake as BIL still has trouble eating & won't do so in public, he's due to go back into hospital soon to have surgery on his broken cheek bone & perforated ear drum.
There is also concern as his skull fracture hasn't healed as well as hoped.
Have a good ay everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who follow!
My OS day turned into a not so OS day....went for pub lunch with OH and ended up staying out all day and going out for dinner too!!! But, Staying in for a good while now, i think it's out my system!

The loaves of bread sorta died as we didn't get them in the oven in time, so got to bake some more tonight! plus the sausage rolls.

Tonight dinner is sausage, jacket and beans. Lunch is fruit and a mini quiche.

Going to work shortly, only 4 days till the weekend! :)

    Good morning.

Just wanted to say that I got some grea whoopsies from Tesco last night - 90% off. I was so pleased, as money is particularly tight this week. I got some lovely chicken breast slices for 32p instead of £3.20 which will make a lovely roast chicken tea. I even got a celebration cake for 69p. I did go in for some of the new Millicano coffee as the opening offer for them finished at Tesco yesterday - big surprise none at either of our Tescos. What's the betting they have them in today when they revert to full price!! (or am I just being cynical?)

Went to Lidl and got bread flour so will probably make some loaves today. Also planning to make some cake or twinks hobnobs, whichever I fancy at the time.

It has stopped raining here, so hope to go down the allotment for a while to do a bit of weeding - why do they grow faster than the crops? lol.

I have got my first physio app at 9am - I have waited about 2 1/2 months for it, so hope they can start sorting my shoulder out.

Hope you all have a good day. Enjoy the sunshine, and half term for those of us with school children.

DD is still in bed, will leave her till 9, need to have a good clear up and hoover through, and do an online shop.

    Good Morning All

Bright sunshine here, looks like its going to be a lovely day :j we had some rain last night which was much needed but looking at my tomato plants they are really suffering even though have been watering them :(

Have been up since 5 and already done 2 hours in the office, have got a lot done but more to do but it is definitely achievable. DS has gone to work with OH and DD still in bed so is lovely and peaceful here at the moment.

Need to get DD to her maths tutor later, will have a mooch around Tesco while she is there, also need to try and get her a hairdressers appointment today.

Nice and easy sausage & mash for dinner tonight.

    Have a great day all.x

I could cry I'm so tired. They still haven't worked out what is causing the retching. I was awake ALL night and its stil going on. GP appt on Thursday for blood results. If they don't show anything then its going to be tubes down throat and lovely things like that. Worst is I've got loads of paid work todo but I can't concentrate and am permanently in danger of spewing water on to the computer.

Sorry rant over. Have to try and get some stuff done or black dog till take over.

  • Redruby ballet pumps do not usually come with the ribbon attached....you buy it seperately to sew on yourself so the position is right for the individuals food.
you will be able to get them with elastic straps but not ribbon....and the ones you buy the ribbon for are usually pink not black.
Any dance shop should have black ones with elastic straps if that is any use for her?

Big hugs to anyone in need today.

Lovely day here although we had rain here too it hasn't really done a lot. Picking up my friends lovely dog today for a sleepover. Need to potter on in the garden and do a tip run if I get time.

Tea tonight is sausages with left-over beef gravy and yorkies. Shall cook a sausage for the dog too ;).

Need to go and wash my hair as I smell like a bonfire.
