lovely weekend with DS2 and his girl, they are moving into(as she puts it) their 1st grown up home soon:)
DS3 has a job interview today,he had to move out of his student house and into a friends student house as his new flat won't be ready for 2 weeks, sounds lovely, part of a georgian house of course both boys now hard up(no change there then!)
annoyed with myself for buying Occitane giant box(tho will use that in time) and Celtic herbal stuff which came today and was rather disapointing esp bathy melts about sixe of a 10p in diameter:mad::mad::mad:looked much better on website.
spent a hot day altering curtains yesterday but they look lovely:)still 1 to do as bought a large pair for back door which only needs 1 and am spliting the other to make 2 shorter ones for window and as they are lined it is a big job.

re flights to Portugal they do seem high, where to and from?We are off next month but only spent £250 ish for 2 but did book early, helps to be flexible on dates and think outside the box a bit,we used to go from Stansted but then I had a lighbulb moment and realised that the times from Luton were much better and also it is a quieter airport:)don't forget to book parking in advance too for good savings or maybe overnightx at a nearby hotel for free parking deal?(sorry if preaching to the converted here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

    Hello ladies,

Have been AWOL, well on holiday to be precise and hope I can at least read through all your news before the July thread starts.

Just wanted to report my ins and outs:

    INs
    • Apivita lipbalm, made in Greece, a little souvenir
    • Cinnamon olive oil soap
    • 4 x olive oil hotel shower gels (I know, I know, I just can't resist a freebie!)
    UUs
    • L'oreal casting creme gloss hair dye in Mahogany. WBA, nice colour, not too in-your-face but nice enough to notice a difference and not at all messy to apply.
    • Fenjal sensitive touch body lotion 30ml WIB? Maybe, nice scent & not greasy, but it's pretty pricey.
    • Erb Asia Eastern Treats handcream 15ml WIB? Again, this was sample, not even sure if you can buy it here, but a lovely product
    • Sanctuary salt scrub sachet. WBA, love this product! Have 2 more sachets in the stash.
    • DM (german brand) suncream SPF 30, 30ml. This had been open a while and had gone rancid. I had to bin it, but WBA.
    • Ambre Solaire clear sunscreen sachet. WNB? No way, the idea of a clear suncream is nice, but it stank.
6 INs and 6 UUs, not quite the result I was hoping for... *hangs head in shame* :o

Hope you are all well, hugs to anyone who needs them!

  • Hi all. I had an OUT today, chucked the Bourjois clubbing mascara, as I realised it's probably a few years old now, and there's no point keeping out of date makeup.

2 INs for me this week - Avon order arrived consisting of hair colour and deodorant. Don't have any stash of these. Am at hairdressers tomorrow for a cut and blow so won't put colour on just yet.

Applied the Avon hair colour last night and whilst I'm really impressed by the result it has not really touched the strong white hairs I have at the roots. I know it said I could leave it on for longer but I was scared to in case i really didn't like the colour. I usually have my hair coloured at the hairdressers and I know that he adds something to the dye for white hair coverage. Anybody know of any other hair colour kits that are good for this? The Nutrisse ad with Davina McCall states that that one does so maybe give ths a try next? Any recommendations?

Charlie, well done on the results and congratulations on earning your degree. Good luck with your Nan, I'm intrigued about the weird letter! Good luck with the job hunting, good luck with OH's job application too. Enjoy your meal out tomorrow.
Yes I did know about the Ikea toiletries. I kept that quiet when we went so that nobody was tempted :p.

It was just wierd in the sense that Ive just no idea how to reply. I don't know if its partly because she didn't no what to say to me or its that shes a sad and lonely old woman :o She said in the letter she doesn't remember seeing me since I was about 7 and then says she speaks to no one in the family except for her daughter and her grandchildren. That leaves 3 sons and thier kids (including me and my sister) she has NO contact with. That to me says more than anything.
She spent two pages talking about my aunty and my 2 cousins Ive never even met telling me about how she has such a wonderful time with them and then she spent 2 pages telling me about her numerous trips to the doctors and having injections etc etc

Heck Im glad she did reply and all and its nice to know she's there so to speak but I just really don't know how I would even begin to build any kind of relationship with her. Maybe its totally the wrong attitude but to me there is obviously a reason her 3 sons have absolutly nothing to do with her and that makes me somewhat wary about getting involved. I obviously don't want to stir anything up with my dad either.

And to be fair thats something that kind of annoyed me in the letter. She replied 2 days after my dad's 50th - didn't make any comment in her letter to even ask how he was......

I think I might just send her a letter back saying thanks for the reply, tell her what grade I got in my degree and offer to send her my graduation photo in september - other than that I really don't know what else to say

Oh and btw did anyone else know IKEA sold all types of toiletries :rotfl: I almost ended up buying them the other day

Not even the promise of toiletry/cosmetic buying will lure me into IKEA. I hate the place. I don't understand why I have to walk all the way around it to get back out!!

OK some INs and and one UU to report:-

IN: Went to TBS andbought some Seaweed cleanser. Only cost me £2.00 with the use of the gift card from Instyle. I really like the Weleda one and the results are fabulous but it's just not good value. The tube I bought is nearly finished and I've had it a couple of weeks (that's only using it in the am as well). The tube is metallic so it's probably gonna be difficult to get all the product out so unless they change the packaging I won't repurchase.

Went to Superdrug yesterday and bought a replacement corn remover as I can't see to buy the blades separately anywhere.

Have placed another Avon order. They have the lip stain/gloss duos on clearance and I used to love these. Think I've managed to get the colours I used to have as well. Have also ordered a brown mascara as they are reduced to £3.50 this time and I think mine is getting close to spluttering.

OUT - Well this is a sad day. I have run outof my beloved Philosophy Pumpkin Spiced Muffin shower gel. It seems you can now only buy this is the US so it's going on my shopping list for my hols.

Had a shock yesterday. Noticed my Elemis PCMC is spluttering so checked in the stash for a new one and only have one remaining! Unfortunately MrM walked in whilst I had the stash drawer out on the bed and starting going on and on and on about it! He even (and I seriously hope this was a joke) suggested I find a cheaper alternative to it when I run out!! Not on your nelly mate! I'm worried my face may cave in if I don't use it! This fell on deaf ears. Never mind, I have a month and a half probably to "source" it at its cheapest!! lol

    Hi everyone
Congratulations to charlie:j:j and grouphug.gif to sarah and kaz.
Thanks for your help on the flights to Portugal problem I've been having. I've got to accept that it will be expensive as we have left it quite late to book. There are no airports near me that fly to Lisbon so have to go to one of the bigger ones. BMIbaby seems the cheapest but will see what the travel agent says tomorrow as my Dad knows her and said I should let her sort it all out! ( He's probably sick of me fretting about it):)

Went shopping in my stash last night and opened a L'occitane 75ml Bergamot shower gel and matching spray lotion. It is fab - because it has been hot I didn't want to use a body butter or lotion. But with this you just spray it all over and my skin is really soft this morning.

14 UU's this month -a record for me so far in this challenge.:T

    Well done Charlie.

Kaz, hope your DD is on the mend, I call my DD Frank Spencer's long lost love child, she is accident prone and the words 'it was an accident' are often heard. she has nothing on your DD though.

Valm, I've used the nutrisse hair dye and it is really nice but I only have the odd grey so not sure how it would be on white hairs.

Sarah - Tesco are getting a bad reputation on here for this type of behaviour, don't think it is the company as a whole but the staff seem to have taken it upon themselves to stop money savers taking advantage of offers:( Hope you get it sorted.

Kaz - oooh ouch  Hope your DD is feeling better. I have visions of you being accosted in A&E like the dad in 'Outnumbered' :rotfl:

Bev - hope you get your flights sorted

Charlie - Your nan probably didn't know what to write either and started rambling just to write something. She may not have mentioned your Dad because she didn't know how to? I once got a letter off my nan (the only letter I got off her) in which she blamed all her children for ruining her life because sex was evil and they were created through evil ..... but she loved me and wished we'd been closer  :rotfl: She was an odd old bat :rotfl:

Update on the Tesco *spit* situation:

I finally got a call from the deputy manager of the store and he's apologised profusely - he agreed to me that it was dispicable that they were practically accusing me of fraud and has promised to have the SA's retrained and has given me £10 worth of points on my card :D He also told me that he had only started at the store last week and the new store manager only started yesterday! That explains a lot! I've got a list of all the managers names so if I have any problems in that store again I can ask for them by name. Thats great except we never use that store usually :rotfl: It wont stop me using my coupons - I say bring it on :p

A whole bunch of UU's from yesterday:
Planet Spa African Shea Whipped Body Balm: WIBA? Yes! Definately! Loved this - made my knobbly bits all smooth and soft and smelled incredible. (If anyone has one - go sniff it - it's Heaven in a Jar :p) I was going to order it in the latest book but it's not in there :(
    Avon Macadamia & Avacado Shampoo:
Avon Macadamia & Avacado Conditioner: WIBA? Meh? they did the job but smelt a little chemically to me - I was expecting a rich creamy nutty smell but didn't get it.
Jergens Cocoa Butter Body Lotion: WIBA? This was a freebie and I'm very impressed with it - smelt great and was lovely and soothing on my skin - lasted less than 3 weeks for a full sized tube though :(

I've moved onto Avon cherry shampoo/conditioner and BS cherry body lotion & butter - I'm gonna smell goooood :p

I now have NO shampoo or BB in stock - I've ordered more shampoo but will be going BB shopping sometime soon :j Now all I need is a coupon :rotfl:

I'm also out of face serum - I was using a mix of different sachets but I forgot to put the lid back on the tub and it's gone everywhere :o - OH has a No7 for Men SPF15 Anti-Aging Face Serum - do you think it would be OK for me to use it? as he's plainly not interested :p

Have a great day Y'all
