Mothership DR sausages are very good. We had the special selection and it went down very well. Thanks for the heads up on the Meal Plans. I had considered trying one but will save my money.

mothership pretty much all the supermarky ones are the same (they all look the same with slightly diferent pictures) they are abit crinkly (like those plastic bed sheets) but we got used to this very quickly, we use MR S's because when they do the 1/3 off there only £1 for 20 nappies, we've used them threw crawling and walking, however they only do size 4 and 5, i tried value pull up pants once and they were so badly made the legs were huge so they leaked everytime sam with MR S's own brand ones, lidl are the best pull up by far they acually are properly elasticated to are comfty and do fit most kids (all of mine) i also use value wipes

well we woke up to a chicken pox's boy this morning so were all housebound :(, mil is grabbing me milk and a script for lotion, then later i'm nipping to te$co to stock up on the bogof beans and maybe some of the 8p sweetcorn if they have any :) so will update later

need to have a look and see wat i had meal planned for today and go get whatever it is out of the freezer

Well I'm at £250.33 so far for the month on a £400 budget so rather pleased with myself as by now we would normally have spent a lot more.

But it's OH payday today, and with empty cupboards and freezer I need to do a big shop. Also need to buy loads of cat food as it is on special offer at the mo so I can make some big savings if I buy enough for the coming month. Hoping the big shop comes to less than £100, which will mean I will be able to come in on budget for the month.

I managed to keep spending to €61 this weekend. DH did the main shop in Lidl on Sat, including a few beers for himself, and that was €52. I had to get mince and bread later down the road (€6) and I spent €3 on eggs in the corner shop yesterday. And I got a good lot of produce from the plot too - a dinner each of broad beans, peas and turnips, a carton of spinach, 2 lettuces, and a punnet of soft fruit (mainly raspberries, but a few red and black currants too). We also used a cabbage from the garden and the last of the first pot of carrots on Saturday.

I must start drying some herbs soon too, for the winter use.

    Menu this week is:
Sat: Bacon, HG cabbage, HG carrots, roast potatoes
    Sun: HM crab cakes
    Mon: HM chilli
    Tues: Spinach, salmon and pasta
    Wed: Chicken, jar curry, rice
Thurs: HM Lasagne (freezer) or HM spag bol (freezer)
Fri: Nasi Goreng (frozen rice to use up)

    €5,442 by October

£7.50 spend in co-op, had to buy crisps for DH's lunches but they had none on offer so had to pay full price (I thought I'd got the mini cheddars on BOGOF but must have been the wrong ones). Also cereal (2 Nestle for £3, I'll only allow choc cereal if wholegrain). 3 Kinder Eggs for £1 odd, what a dissapointment, the toys were made of paper and got ripped almost immediately (Apart from one Rio themed one).
£33.50 spent yesterday at Tesco. I think I may struggle again this month (I must resist temptaions to stock up on things, I seem to have a hoarding instinct l;ike I'm afraid offers will never be on again, or prices may rise too much. Maybe I should have a seperate Stocking Up budget to work from...

Value baby stuff - I have used Tesco value nappies, as mentioned they are crinkly but apart from that I'd rather them than Pampers! Value Wipes - always use these, since I was brave enough to try them with baby 3, wish I'd given them a go with the others but my inner snob assumed they'd not be good enough for my darlings' bottoms! At 18p (this week, last time I bought they were 36p and the time before they were 19p...???) they are well worth buying even if they don't feel as luxurious as the fancy ones they are good enough. They are fragrance free and don't seem to have caused any issues bottom-wise and you wonn't feel guilty about using them for fingers and faces.

Bacon -definitely gone up, especially British.

Toilet roll up in Tesco by 30p since I last bought it (I buy the Springforce, 9 roll pack, used to be 1.99, then 2.10 now 2.40!!!!!!!!)

Havent had time to come on here a lot this month but I have been using store cupboard and freezer stock when possible.

Have just been going over annual figures and realised they are wrong and I actually have a little bit more left than I thought :)

Will put this right in my sig in a minute and update total properly tonight as only have two out of three receipts on me, as other is in the car and will sort it out tonight. Thinking we will be around £130 spent so far so not to bad.
