I'm a bit late joining this month but could you put me down for £350 please Mrs M. I had a terrible April & May food wise and I really need to get back into meal planning, and to stop taking my DH with me to the supermarket. Already spent £129.10 so far this month, and will need to pop out later for some onions, courgettes & bananas. That is all I'm buying, nothing else, not even if there's any bargains :D

I can totally relate to the 'feeling strange about my shop tomorrow' thread. I always do a big shop on a friday night, so maybe it's time to change, and only buy what I need :o

Oh blurry heck, I lost control of the spending at the weekend, went to home & Bargains, Iceland, superdrug and Asda and ended up spending money on well I don't really have anything to show for it, so junk would be the answer, I just chucked all the reciepts in my purse, I am sat here plucking up the courage to get them out and add them up:( I think I have spent a lot, and its still so far till the end of the month, maybe I should just ignore the spree and forget about it:rotfl:

Oh lordy, I have amended my sig, that spree cost me big time, I have the receipts so will look at what I actually bought that was *needed* and not just bought on a whim, saying that it was the first time I had been out in a few days, as my dog was really ill with Pancreatitis and I was so worried we were going to lose her. Shes ok now thankfully, it did cost us a fair whack at the vets, but she is worth every penny.

Just updated my sig with a small 1.24 spend on shower gel in Boots yesterday..I was completely out so was needed...

Got 'cowboy hash' for tea tonight out of the freezer ( a recipe I got from here that I love) kids are having with rice and me and dh with chippies...

Just heard my bil and niece may be losing their jobs as their company has been taken over and apparantly they may close their site :( its such a worry in these times...both are the main earners in the family and earn quite a good wage...my bil is in his 50's and has also heard they may not honour their pensions!!

Going to pop to Mr T's with my mum tonight, just to check out if there are any of those penny items, although I don't know if they have a price checker machine there at all. Think 10p oxo has been mentioned so will check for that....I got a £4 voucher by doing that price challenge thing agains Asda to spend as well! (only got it because dh spent over £100 on his works c/c for a business lunch so he wasn't shopping wisely!!)

Off to put the tea on x

Sorry about your bil and niece, 69Chick. It's terrible that even his pension is in doubt! I always thought pensions were pretty secure (guess I'm rather naive).

I'm such an idiot - here I am trying to find ways to save every single penny and wondering how I am going to manage when my salary gets cut, and there's a knock on the door and it's a young girl from Marie Curie cancer care. It's such a worthwhile cause and cancer has affected my family very closely to me, so before I know it, I sign up to a direct debit of just under £9 per month. I know it's not a lot and it is a good cause, but I just don't have any spare cash right now but I couldn't say no to her when I was faced with her. So now that's another added pressure to deal with.
